(Shevanel Take 2) Lyrics
My head will not rest on this pillow
As it's gripped in my arms tonight
Like reality, too tight
If a dream could last forever
I would hold you here
Time need not freeze, I need not fear
This world inside
Is a world I have longed to find
And I will not be afraid to love
I will not be afraid to lose what I once deprived myself of
My teardrops have salt-stained this pillow
As it's loosened from my weakened clutch
By the sun's light, too much
There's a hope today
That I'll find a way
This dream of life unreal to me
Sometimes I run and sometimes I crawl
Sometimes I fly and sometimes, I'm gonna fall
But this dream of mine will not change at all
As it's gripped in my arms tonight
Like reality, too tight
I would hold you here
Time need not freeze, I need not fear
Is a world I have longed to find
I will not be afraid to lose what I once deprived myself of
As it's loosened from my weakened clutch
By the sun's light, too much
That I'll find a way
This dream of life unreal to me
Sometimes I fly and sometimes, I'm gonna fall
But this dream of mine will not change at all

I'd say progressive hardcore or metalcore, but yes they have a lot of math style in their music.
I'm not trying to be a dick but to generalize: deathcore is bring me the horizon mathcore is dillinger escape plan grindcore could be anywhere from nasum to insect warfare (NOT THE LOCUST) metalcore (metal + hardcore) usually isn't as crazy as btbam it just has a lot of melodic parts and for some bands-breakdowns (all that remains, protest the hero, SOME as I lay dying, august burns red, parkway drive)
just my 2 cents
They're not even deathcore. Progressive/techincal metal/hardcore, or just plain progressive/techincal, is probably the best term to describe them.
However, to describe this song, I'd use: surreal, beautiful, and serence.
I may be a little late to this, but BTBAM is most definitely Progressive Metalcore, and always have been.
And, Tommy isn't singing in this song, at least not the lead part, their lead guitarist Paul is singing.
One word...wow. Simple but wonderful lyrics and great harmonization. I've listened to this song over and over and over... Nifty song. Listen to it. You won't be dissappointed.
beautiful.
It really is amzing when such a hardcore band can do a song like this. It proves how talented they are. They are showing that they can actually sing. Don't get me wrong, the rest of the cd is awesome.
beautiful, simply amazing. i think we've all been here before, but i doubt most of us could put it in such a uniquely eloquent way.
This song was actually inspired by a homeless man named Shevanel that taught the writer of this song some things about life that he had been holding out on, and things that were important to learn. It's simply an epiphany. An epiphany written quite beautifully I must say.
"This song is about recognizing what you want in life and being courageous enough to go after it, regardless of the sacrafices you may have to make. -paul"
Taken from the bands website.
Needless to say, this is an amazing song. I love it, the lyrics are so inspiring and meaningful. Beautiful, just beautiful.
This song is so beautiful.
