We got winners, we got losers
Chain smokers and boozers
An' we got yuppies, we got bikers
We got , thirsty hitchhikers
And the girls next door dress up like movie stars
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I love this bar

We got cowboys, we got truckers
Broken hearted fools and suckers
An' we got hustlers, we got fighters
Early birds and all nighters
And the veterans talk about their battle scars
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I love this bar

I love this bar
It's my kind of place
Just walkin' through the front door
Puts a big smile on my face
It ain't too far, come as you are
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I love this bar

I've seen short skirts, we've got high-techs
Blue collared boys and rednecks
An' we got lovers, lots of lookers
An' I've even seen dancin' girls and hookers
And we like to drink our beer from a mason jar
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I love this bar, yes I do

I like my truck (I like my truck)
An' I like my girlfriend (I like my girlfriend)
I like to take her out to dinner
I like a movie now and then

But I love this bar
It's my kind of place
Just trolling around the dance floor
Puts a big smile on my face
No cover charge, come as you are
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I love this bar
Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm, I just love this ol' bar

And we've got divorcees, and a big bouncer man
An old jukebox and a real bad band
We got waitresses, and we got barflies
A dumbass and a wise guy
If you get too drunk, just sleep out in your car
These are numbers six, seven and two why
Mm, mm, mm I just love this bar

Play it on out boys
Beer thirty's over, gotta take it on home

Mm, mm, mm I love this bar
I just love it

i'm sitting in a pub downtown today, and i had yet to go to a bar since i moved here two months ago. im sitting in this very irish pub, having a pint of guinness. looking around, talking to the people here, i realize i'm in one of the greatest bars in the world. sort of a cheers feel. this song was playing through my head the whole four hours i sat on that barstool and drank. it was great.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
