Flat On The Floor Lyrics

Not like I need to depend on anyone
Since I can see the lack of need for you to be here at all
"One more" the anthem for the know-it-all
You won't be standing up for long
You better learn how to crawl
In 10 minutes I'll be laying out flat on the floor
Like I need to defend my own innocence
So what I did it, I admit it, and I'm pleading the fifth
"Two more" the anthem for the know-it-all
You won't be standing up for long
You better learn how to crawl
8 minutes from losing it a little bit
5 minutes your description might be starting to fit
3 to go and I'm forgetting all that I've ever known
I won't be standing up for long
I better learn how to crawl
Can't stand anymore
In 10 minutes I'll be laying out flat on the floor

This song is about alot of things... the pressing need for self sufficiency in a world rendered 'hopeless'. Prehaps a lack of motivation to get involved in Life... or an overwhelming tendency to self-destruct when it is impossible to make a stand against life's obstacles. The funny thing about songs, is that you tend to read your own world/life paradigm(s) into them.

I agree with all three (unfortunately), but what's missing is the attitude that is displayed within the lyrics. There's also a F-U feel, at least I think so.

A lot of these lines are wrong... "So what I did it I admit it and I'm pleading the fifth" "Three to go I'm forgetting all that I've ever known" "Can't stand up at all, can't see nothing at all"

This is pretty damn self-explanatory. I think it's just about getting so drunk that you wind up on the floor. "One More", the anthem for the know it all...

hehe. i really like this song. to me its about goong it alone and depending on your self. i remeber the first time iI played the cd to my freind he was expecting somthing more typical of nickle back and then this just blasts through the cd player his fucking jaw dropped. its also the one and only song by them that has double kick drum in it. being a drummer, im very pleased about this.

i disagree with ic6md, i don't think alcohol has anything to do with it. It sounds more to me like he's being attacked by someone while he's alone and unable to stand up to them. I think it's about knowing when you're beaten and when to back out and 'crawl away'
