a great song ! gary here is saying that he's just another person just like you or me trying to make living. again, he's not a god, or someone that has magical powers to heal people, etc...just like the lyrics say, "remember, i grow tired and i can end all this ". becoming a pop star takes it's toll on you...no matter who you are. great song !
Numan singing about his superstar status and how he's only human. I think this is directed at fans more than anyone else.
NOTE: if you have the old vinyl or cassette verions and compare it to the cd, have you noticed that the echoed synth solo is missing? Just wondering if anyone else noticed besides myself.
@MrLongrove I know this comment is old, but you're right, the synth solo is missing from some versions I've heard, can't remember if it's the CD or the record at the moment..
