Noumenon Lyrics

Regret nothing, resistance is remorse
All feeling is to now be without consequence
Truth has become media controlled
Open wide and eat the worms of the enemy
Reality is distortion of perception
We are the enemy

There is no stronger drug than reality
Twist and change, time is nothing, regret everything

Young hearts are pure like violet drops of rain
Until life teaches us to be stoned or ashamed

There is no stronger drug than reality
We are the enemy

A noumenon, as described by Kant, is an unknowable, indescribable reality that exists only in the mind's eye.

I think what this song says, is basically that "Reality" as we know it is completely false. The media twists the truth and reports it and people buy into it without question. People, and feelings don't matter. You must fall inline or be an outcast. "Reality", that people believe is like a strong drug. So strong that once you are hooked, you can't live without it. It's like the old question that goes something like 'Would you want to know all the secrets in the world, or continue on in plesant ignorance?' The enemy is those who challenge the "Reality" that is fed to them

A rather cynical view, but there is truth to it. I'm not commenting on the social aspects, but as far as the human perception of the physical world, we do not see reality. Our brains can not comprehend it, because our limited view of the world is all that is necessary for survival

^ Truth. These lyrics are so much better than anything soad or any other mega popular so called political/outcast band could write. And to be able to understand the books these are based on, it requires a brain. Much respect to this band, they know their shit.
