Ants Lyrics
Alive, but so alone...
Live, so alive...
All we need is money just a little bit of money, and that's all
that we've been searching for
(Make the money! Do the laundry!)
Just a little bit of money makes the world go round
Live, so alive...
All we need is money just a little bit of money, and that's all
that we've been searching for
(Make the money! Do the laundry!)
Just a little bit of money makes the world go round

Holy fucking 800 overdubs!
I think this song may be about consumerism, as it talks about money and how it "makes the world go round". Possibly likening us as Humans to Ants, scurrying around grabbing what we can.
This probably another lousy stab at the meaning (considering burbster gave their interpretation), I read somewhere that people who dream about ants are lonely, so that could be something to do with the song title
Considering Dev was diagnosed as bipolar at this time and was off his meds, this song could very well just be nonsensical rambling...
... however, the only thing I can make from this (I can't understand what the hell he's saying in the song) but from the lyrics I would guess consumerism is people's way for filling the gaps in their lives caused by loneliness. And yes, Zimmil, when people dream of/hallucinate of ants, it's commonly held that their alone or at least feel that way. It's suggested it's because ants are almost always in groups and that a person longs for that but that's only my theory.
Anyway, more to the song, it just seems like a bunch of ridiculous sounds and lyrics thrown together when just listening to it, but analysing it, it definitely sounds like it's about being lonely and that we buy pointless shit to distract us from feeling that way.
