i juste started listening to devin townsend today and im actually in love with with song haha
This is only my own interpretation but to me... this song is about acceptance and manifestation. It sounds like Devin here is talking about (to) someone who not only dislikes themselves and thinks they're unworthy of happiness but also won't admit they have a problem. The lines "Say you love me, say you love yourself" is obviously about self appreciation. Then comes the line "Loving what anyone else would loathe here" to me, means accepting all your flaws as a part of yourself. The whole bits about "Say you love/want me" I think is reassurance to the self that this person is worthy and deserving of love. And then, what line made me think that's what this is all about, "We know and we're feeling so much better than before" which could mean Devin's talking about accepting himself and feeling better for it and that the feeling doesn't "fail" anymore.
Just my thoughts, anyway. Could be my mindset but this one song of his that speaks to me most, or at least close to it. Perfect for when you're feeling down about yourself. Always lifts my mood ^_^
