Dear Yoko Lyrics
Even after all these years
I miss you when your not here
I wish you were here my dear Yoko
Even if it's just a day
I miss you when your away
I wish you were here today dear Yoko
Even if it's just one night
I miss you and it don't feel right
I wish you were here tonight dear Yoko
Even if it's just an hour
I wilt just like a fading flower
Ain't nothing in the world like our love dear Yoko
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Even when I'm miles at sea
And nowhere is the place to be
Your spirit's watching over me dear Yoko
Even when I watch TV
There's hole where your supposed to be
There's nobody lying next to me
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Even after all this time
I miss you like the sun don't shine
Without you I'm a one track mind dear Yoko
After all is really said and done
The two of us are really one
The goddess really smiled upon our love dear Yoko
I miss you when your not here
I wish you were here my dear Yoko
I miss you when your away
I wish you were here today dear Yoko
I miss you and it don't feel right
I wish you were here tonight dear Yoko
I wilt just like a fading flower
Ain't nothing in the world like our love dear Yoko
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
And nowhere is the place to be
Your spirit's watching over me dear Yoko
There's hole where your supposed to be
There's nobody lying next to me
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
Oh Yoko!
I'll never ever, ever, ever going to let you go
I miss you like the sun don't shine
Without you I'm a one track mind dear Yoko
The two of us are really one
The goddess really smiled upon our love dear Yoko

very sweet, and also quite jubilant. that's all i can say. Lack of inspiration, y'see
I think it's a very nice song, it coud have been a hit if John Lennon erased the word Yoko from it. It's one of my favourites from the "Double Fantasy" album, nice melody, nice lyrics, i think it's great. And I think it's the best song than John made talkin' about Yoko, because Oh Yoko! wasn't too brilliant.
People judge Yoko too harshly. Although I have heard as many bad things abuot her as the next person, we really have no idea what is fact or fiction. This song is so adorable, and if john loved her, I think we can accept her.
i agree with you
everyone i know doesn't like yoko
but i do accept her, if john lennon loved her and her standing up for human rights and peace is awesome
Yoko's been the target of a crapload of racism and sexism. The '60s may be remembered as a time of revolution and liberation but it was still horribly hidebound (it's not really much better now but I digress). The thought that everyone's favourite lad hero could allow himself to be influenced by a Japanese-American feminist conceptual artist was horrifying to some people. Never mind that part of being in love is being able to see things from your beloved's perspective, or that John had always been quite fond of the avant-garde.
aww...that such a sweet song that he dedicate it to his wife.
is it me, or did yoko really change john? or maybe she didnt change him at all...maybe she just brought out his inner-hippie. hahha. the songs he wrote after the beatles are completley different. seems to me that the beatles' music was really fun, but his solo music was so much more serious and the messages were so much deeper. he did some great solo songs, but idk...he just seemed so much more "free" in the beatles, like he had no cares and everything was just happy.
dfjnhwejkalj someone please tell me if im COMPLETLEY wrong or not ahah (: i wannnnnnntt to hear what you think!
I think he changed with age, and while Yoko didn't change him per se, she encouraged him to pursue certain creative avenues (or, as you said, brought out his inner hippie). There was a reason they got together in the first place, after all, and I like to think it was because they had a lot in common despite the superficial differences.
dude what the fuck. I just heard this song like right now and shit. and it's sooo damn amazing. it's a cute little fast love song. it's unique and very catchy.
I really can't stand Yoko, but I do respect her and I can kinda see why John loved her. This is a cute song, either way. <3
