Are We Still Here? Lyrics
it's easier to play things down than hold your ground
that's when we fall through
sometimes we hold on not knowing that we're still friends
are we still friends?
that's when we fall through
pull harder - we're sinking down to nowhere
drive farther - this trip is far from over
try harder, drive farther
silence can't last forever
try harder, drive farther
please, please just don't say never
or we'll never come together
or we'll never come together
it's easier to make no sound than kid around
that's when our call's through
sometimes we hold on to knowing that we're still here
are we still here?
that's when we fall through
pull harder - we're sinking down to nowhere
drive farther - this trip is far from over
try harder, drive farther
silence can't last forever
try harder, drive farther
please, please just don't say never
or we'll never come together
or we'll never come together
na na na, na na na
we're sinking down to nowhere
na na na, na na na
this trip is far from over
na na na, na na na
silence can't last forever
na na na, na na na
please, please just don't say never

Spitalfield one of the most underrated bands on victory and I have no idea why?they own! I think this song is about trying to figure out where you are at the end of a relationship between gf/bf or friends not quite sure? and hes woundering whats going on between them "sometimes we hold on not knowing that we're still friends are we still friends?" or it could be to do with an arguement he's had with them and he just doesn't know whats going on but hes saying don't give up we've still got plently of times to come,a whole lifetime to share"pull harder - we're sinking down to nowhere drive farther - this trip is far from over" he's just pleading with them not to give up just yet and to work a bit harder at their relationship and the bit about silence not lasting forever, perhaps hes saying this arkward silence and dip in our relationship/friendship can't last forever."it's easier to make no sound than kid around that's when our call's through sometimes we hold on to knowing that we're still here are we still here?" this bit he's just asking how long is this going to last I can't believe we're still here can't we just move on.and the last line"try harder, please, please just don't say ... we'll never come together" kinda makes me wounder is he saying that he likes this person and they don't feel the same way so it could be about friendships or is he just saying don't tell me we can't be together again as friends or relationship wise.anyway this song i think is one of their best from the ep and the 5:11 minutes i've ever heard doesn't drag on at all and one of my favourites from spiralfield.
