Feels Like Summer Again Lyrics
My mind is open
And my heart is full
I ain’t got any weight
That I can’t pull
And right now
I know that anything
Is possible
I’m going to bang my drum
Blow my horn
I forget what these pills
Were ever for
I believe
I won’t need them anymore
I used to burn candles
At both ends
Now I just throw the whole damn thing
Right in
Now playing in traffic is easy
Once you learn
Where you get in
You want to come with me
Then get on board
Now get in or get out
Use either door
The future is calling
And it’s me
That it’s looking for
Cause it feels like summer again
I was thinking that it just might never begin
After winter and spring
It’s good to have the sun on my face again
I wear big boots
I know I do
I ain’t envious
Of anybodies shoes
I wear them loose
Now maybe that’s
Why it bothers you
I’m building my ship
Stick by stick
And where the waters get rough
I’m getting in
The motion of the waves
It does not
Make me sick
Cause it feels like summer again
(Feels like summer again)
I was thinking that it just might never begin
After winter and spring
It’s good to have the sun on my face again
I buried my horse
In a shallow a grave
I said a few things
I had champagne
That beast gave me everything
That nobody gave
And I got high hopes
Tomorrow came
And I won’t look back
On anything
I just found out
That my bird
Can really sing…
And it feels like summer again
(Feels like summer again)
I was thinking that it just might never begin
After winter and spring
(Feels like summer again)
It’s good to have the sun on my face again
Feels like summer again
(Feels like summer again)
I was thinking that it just might never begin
After winter and spring
(Feels like summer again)

this song is talks about Jakob dylan living in the shadow of his dad bob dylan... "I wear big boots I know I do, I ain’t envious Of anybodies shoes I wear them loose Now maybe that’s Why it bothers you" He really doesn;t care about living up to the success of his dad...he just want to be his own man...cheers
Successful at last...
I think the use of seasons is a reference to moods. Winter being the depression, and Summer being the release. I think it's kind of talking about letting things or certain people getting to you and bringing you down. You start to think it's always going to be like this. Then you just get sick of it and say "screw it" and say "if you're with me then lets go, if you're not, there's the door don't let it hit you in the @ss on the way out. I'm moving on with or without you" Giving you a sense of freedom from those holding you back. My fav part is: "You want to come with me Then get on board Now get in or get out Use either door"
i think this song is a mixture between looking back at his past and also at the future. i do agree with DerrickKwan that it could definitely be about his dad, i mean thats a big shadow to be standing in with your dad being so famous and them expecting you to be like your father.
