Falling Upon Deaf Ears Lyrics
the sound of silent voices surveying my thoughts
regularity defining perfection
neither sorrow nor contentment
whispering emptiness, frail words collapse
my weight only stirs the ground
how long can i hold your hand as you walk over graves
you search for tears of compassion
yet find the comfort of winter
reassurance dead like the falling leaves
losing hope in your unchanging ways
all of my strength cannot save you
if you are unwilling to help yourself
regularity defining perfection
neither sorrow nor contentment
whispering emptiness, frail words collapse
my weight only stirs the ground
how long can i hold your hand as you walk over graves
you search for tears of compassion
yet find the comfort of winter
reassurance dead like the falling leaves
losing hope in your unchanging ways
all of my strength cannot save you
if you are unwilling to help yourself

i think this song is about.. wanting to help some1 but they are stubborn and arent listening
As with all "AILD" songs fantastically composed. I feel this has to do with Felling depressed and Empty Inside, Unable to feel emotion.
Only one comment!? Only one!? Oh well. I love this song. Even though it is not as popular as there other songs I love it so much. The entire song is just perfect. Having Tim Lambesis growl "frail words collapse" is so cool. Plus, the guitar solo in the middle kicks ass. I love the meaning of this song. To me, this song means two things. Trying to help someone but not being able to get through to them since you're only "whispering emptiness". Also, the last two lines pretty much sum up what he is saying.
what...nobody likes this song...? best one in frail words collapse
Everything about this song is so amazing, the beat makes me want to get up and dance.
This i my favorite AILD song because i relate to it 100%.This song to me is about being in a relationship with someone that has a bad past and a history of being self destructive.you want to believe that this person can change so you grow attached to them for the purpose of trying to help them but they keep messing up because there so use to there old life style that they never understand or see the problem to the fool extent. They don't realize that something is wrong wile the other person gets tired of repeating the same words and going through the same issues and finally starts to "lose hope in there unchanging ways"."All of my strength cannot save you" because people can't/shouldn't change for another person.they should change for there own sake and the only way is if they truly want to.One must do these thing on there own and their unwilling to help themselves then they truly don't want to change and all you can do after that is give them an ultimatum or else you will stay there in that relationship and take care of that person for ever.to watch over them in fear that they might hurt themself which is the wrong reason to care about someone that you want to love in a relationship...i know i probably rambled and over explained things but atleast my point is made.
about the help god is willing to give you....you just got to make the choice for what he has planned for you
