Born Like This Lyrics
It's not what I took from you
It's not what I stole
We are born like this (like this)
Like this
The time has come to change this
To stretch the thought a mile
We've lost that kind of spirit
We want it back today
The time is right to change this
To make the life we know
They took what we were given
We'll get it back again
Somewhere, someone's gun
someone's gun is laughing
It's not what I gave to you
It's not what I sold
We are born like this (like this)
It's not what I took from you
It's not what I stole
We are born like this (like this)
You try your best to mock me
You're always in my way
You've lost what you've been given
You'll get it back today
The time has come to change this
To make the life we know
They took what we were given
You'll get it back again
Somewhere, someone's gun
someone's gun is laughing
It's not what I gave to you
It's not what I sold
We are born like this (like this)
It's not what I took from you
It's not what I stole
We are born like this (like this)
Somewhere
You're floating high
you're not living, we are
Somewhere, someone's gun
someone's gun is laughing, laughing
It's not what I gave to you
It's not what I sold
We are born like this (like this)
It's not what I took from you
It's not what I stole
We are born like this
It's not what I stole

i luv this song:)
I fucking love this song it fucking rocks i love TDG Vica La Green Day
Man when i first heard this song I thought "insanity?" Reading the lyrics again it sounds like a creepy cult of outcasts killing people. XD i know its not about that but it was a thought?
"The time has come to change this To stretch the thought a mile We’ve lost that kind of spirit
We want it back today The time is right to change this To make the life we know They took what we were given We’ll get it back again " Sounds like regaining the urge to rebel again maybe for rights i dunno?
"Somewhere someone’s gun, someone’s gun is laughing " - a laughing gun eh? the first thing that jumped into my mind was "suicide" but wouldnt that change my whole theory unless the song was about a group of elite people who is hated by someone else and the someone else kills themselves?
Someone being punished for something, now their gettign revenge by killing them? that seems most obvious. I dont know. Am i getting to caught up in this? XD Someone help me out here

I don't understand this song, it's such a great song but I just can't understand the meaning of this. :(
Same, I dont get the meaning either. I didnt like this when i first heard it but all day ive had the lyrics stuck in my head. Just the somewhere, someones gun, someones gun is laughing and i absent mindedly wrote it on my book halfway through class and my friend just goes "What the fuck is a laughing gun?" and she got in shit off the teacher :P
My opinion (and I'm probably wrong) is that they were born like that, that was the way they were brought into the world and they can't change who they are. They've already accepted the fact that who they are is who they are, and though they've tried to change themselves, who they truly are always shines through.
Just taking a guess. I think it's a good song, though.

sounds like a group of people,,,like social outcasts or sumn...gettin together and like fighting back,,,iwinder what was in his mind when adam (?) wrote this song
This song is so good and strong... but the lyrics are so random and don't really seem to interconnect... But its an awesome song anyway...
