Coral Fang Lyrics
It's come take from the ripe (from the ripe, from the ripe)
It feels so still I could just die (just die)
It's going to reach up inside (up inside, up inside)
Oh how the blood stains well on white
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you well
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you ill
It's come to rape what you hide
It fills the years with reprise, disgust, disguise
I'll burn my own funeral pyre
And from your mouth I will rise up, rise up
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you well
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you ill
When the fang sinks in (sinks down in)
Make your eyes white and roll right into him
When the coral stains the skin
Disease is cheap scars are polished clean
Ooh the coral fang sinking to take at will
It feels so still I could just die (just die)
It's going to reach up inside (up inside, up inside)
Oh how the blood stains well on white
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you ill
It fills the years with reprise, disgust, disguise
And from your mouth I will rise up, rise up
Ooh the coral fang sinking in to make you ill
Make your eyes white and roll right into him
When the coral stains the skin
Disease is cheap scars are polished clean

I love this song.
its about finding something good in even the worst things... well thats what brody said .. she may be wrong..:S
I've always taken this song to be about heroin addiction... the fang being the needle, sinking in to skin, making you ill, making you well (as in "getting well" after sicking out). I suppose it might be coral because in Australia they get pink rocks instead of black tar. "Making your eyes white" makes sense because your pupils become pinholes when it hits and you feel like you're closer to god, so maybe that's the "him". And ESPECIALLY the part about "disease is cheap, scars are polished clean", obviously you can catch shit from dirty points, and scars would be trackmarks, that eventually fade. How dope "fills the years with reprise, disgust, disguise", and how it "takes at will", draining away your soul and leaving you a shell of a person basically. That's really what I get from this song. I love this song too.
its all about a pregnant woman who was murdered in her hometown in Australia, hence the artwork on the album too
but what ladyswitchblade said was really deep :) hadn't ever thought about it from that perspective
What ladyswitchbalde said. Honestly I had the same view although am too lazy to elaborate.
All your ideas make sense, maybe it's just one of those songs that has several explanations to it. I think the most realistic outlook is ladyswitchblade's though, deep thinking there! nevertheless, neat song, the chorus is really catchy.
from brodys writings the best i can understand is that coral fang is a metaphor for something but i think there is only one person who really knows what it is.... great song though
i always thought it was about pregnancy!
but i thought the coral fang was a metaphor for a penis. haha.
Same idea as ladyswitchblade but she explained it better than I would have done.
