My eyes were jaded, so close to the centre I could not see
But now they are fixed and glaring at the sacrifice to be made
Now that I'm aware of the cycles I pray that I can deal
Now that I have shown you these cycles I pray that you can feel
In and out of the stray
Taking the bait
Feeling compelled to obey, betray
The isle of await
Running scared from their thought
Thinking I can summon some ancient truth before wrong
Seeking my nature, our nature with fear of being caught
Or have we been like this all along
The dawn of birth gives way to men
Age brings dimness to sight as it must
Death seals the eyelids on darkness once again
Augmentation of the dust
But now they are fixed and glaring at the sacrifice to be made
Now that I'm aware of the cycles I pray that I can deal
Now that I have shown you these cycles I pray that you can feel
Taking the bait
Feeling compelled to obey, betray
The isle of await
Thinking I can summon some ancient truth before wrong
Seeking my nature, our nature with fear of being caught
Or have we been like this all along
Age brings dimness to sight as it must
Death seals the eyelids on darkness once again
Augmentation of the dust

One of the first samples in this song is taken a novel called The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles...Great read. I used to listen to this song when I was younger and never realized...Read the book a few months back and was suddenly amazed that this song contained my favourite quote from it.
'Because we don't know when we will die, we get to think of life as an inexhaustible well, yet everything happens only a certain number of times, and a very small number, really. How many more times will you remember a certain afternoon of your childhood, some afternoon that's so deeply a part of your being that you can't even conceive of your life without it? Perhaps four or five times more, perhaps not even that. How many more times will you watch the full moon rise? Perhaps twenty. And yet it all seems limitless. '

I've just bought the Enemy of the Sun album, and I think it's amazing. I'm definitely going to be getting further into this heavier stye of music. As for the lyrics... truly beyond me.
"Are you lost?" "...yes" My favorite neurosis song by far This entire album is like your floating through space and time.
no idea what this song is about, anybody got an idea?
"Cycles" may mean cycle of life repeating itself. "Fixed sight" means realization of this concept and also realization that sacrifices need to be done (in order to escape this cycle?). But he(lyrics hero) always takes the bait, not making the sacrifices and obeys sinful human nature. "Thinking I can summon some ancient truth before wrong" - the hero cannot find the truth of human nature. The last four lines emphasize this cycle of life and death and described persona cannot escape it. Hence the name of the song - Lost.
