The Mountain Range in Living Room Lyrics

With this being said
Every petal's come off again and fell to the floor
Every word again
It's not like it ever meant everything we'd hoped

All this said
Every word again

It's never been harder to fall
There's nothing to grab and that's all I want to hold onto
Just another sweep and it'll be fine
But this carpet's got hills and I can't see this helping at all

Throw away what you say
Well then watch it all wash away, will it wash ashore?
Who'd have thought it could float
Even grow enough to make its own way back alone

All this said
Every word again

It's never been harder to fall
There's nothing to grab and that's all I want to hold onto
Just another sweep and it'll be fine
But this carpet's got hills and I can't see this helping at all

I BELIEVE this is what is said during that "mumbo jumbo" near the end of the song, when there are just random people talking. Please correct me if you believe I am incorrect, but i listened to it over and over and I'm pretty sure most of it is right:

I’m molly, and when I grow up, I’m going to have an academy award…at least 2.

Every morning when I have that feeling and its kind of (maybe?) and I’ve always imagined since I’m little that the leaves were on the bottom of my toes walking on the leaves. And I sometimes (they?) swallow me up (affectionately??)

(kids laughing and playing)

My name’s Amanda, and when I get older…

I’m Tim, From Arkansas. Love Jesus. Got 3 Kids. Married 21 years.

Names Garden…this is important whatever you do, please, please (don’t know here)

..and like we wake up, and Molly’s like “Oh, its 8:45, we’ve been passed out for like 25 minutes.” And then like, she hits her like watch again and it was the stop watch. And then we went to the real time and it was like 2 AM in the morning. We both passed out naked in my house for like 4 hours. 4 hours. After we fucked and we threw up. (Molly says here: “Actually it was 6 hours.” ) It wasn’t 6 hours. That was the best. Mollys naked on my, on my, on my…on my…..

AT THE END: Michael Calsgrove, and my goal in life is to make sure everybody else is havin a good time.

this is a very amazing song and is very well written and i love the message that lies behind the words....the phrase mountain range in my living room refers to the instinctive tendencies of people to ignore their problems and "sweep them under the rug"....it criticizes the instincts of man to not have enough inside them to face their problems eye to eye but rather ingore and let them build up inside themselves.....very well written with a very powerful meaning behind it

DontCountToday, I think you're pretty much right on the talking parts - I listened to it on my discman and could hear quite a lot of what they were saying.

As for why it's there.. seems to be emphasising the differences in what people think is important in life. The song's fab.
