You Talk Way Too Much Lyrics
Now we're out of time
I said it's my fault
It's my fault
Can't make good decisions
It won't stop
I can't stop
Give me some time, I just need a little time
Give me some time, I just need a little time
Give me some time, I just need a little time
Give me some time, I just need a little time
You talk way too much
You talk way too much
It's the only the end
It's only the end, hey.
We don't get the news
He says why not?
Why not?
Forget what you heard
'Cause it won't stop
It won't stop
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
You talk way too much
You talk way too much
It's only the end
It's only the end as you know it
"You're not supposed to say that
You taught me too much"
Is this how it ends?
Is this how it ends? Oh
I said it's my fault
It's my fault
It won't stop
I can't stop
Give me some time, I just need a little time
Give me some time, I just need a little time
Give me some time, I just need a little time
You talk way too much
It's the only the end
It's only the end, hey.
He says why not?
Why not?
'Cause it won't stop
It won't stop
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
Give 'em some time, They just need a little time
You talk way too much
It's only the end
It's only the end as you know it
You taught me too much"
Is this how it ends?
Is this how it ends? Oh

I do have another interpretation for this song it could be basically about a politician losing a debate and can't wrap his head around the fact that losing is in fact how it ends. (Try to be in the politicians shoes while listening to the song and reading the lyrics)
I agree with 'ccovert.' I think you can sense frustration as well as confusion...to me its like he sounds aggravated with the "give me some time" repeats. The lyrics sound choppy, right to the point, kinda commanding...like when someone's angry.
I dunno, thats just my thoughts.
Effin' awesome song. :)
its about being nagged at for procastination
i dont think its about breaking up
I concur that this song is about a break up. And the ex partner could be talking bad about the person as he says "you're not supposed to say that you taught me way to much" and as he mentions repeatedly "you talk way too much" in general this song could be about bad break up.
I think it's a song about a breakup, too, but to me it feels like she's the one "talking too much", she thinks she seems to be unsure about their relationship and thinks she needs some time, so she asks for it.
He, on the other hand, has already accepted that the relationship is over, or maybe he's can't put up with the situation anymore, so he just ends it in a definitive manner.
Much like some other songs on this CD, this one is about splitting up. It's over and they're both saying the things that everyone says "You're not supposed to say that... you taught me too much." He's accepting responsibility for things going wrong, he thinks he can deal with it, he just needs some time. They keep talking, he feels confused "we don't get the news", he doesn't know when he'll get over it. They're struggling to maintain a friendship and 'they just need a little time', but the talking doesn't get them anywhere and eventually they stop talking.
This song reminds me of Harry Potter.
oo-er
um, i do believe this song isn't actually about talking way to much.
Hahahah Harry Potter...why?:P
Hey, this song reminds me of Harry Potter too!
No joke. =P
