Already Gone Lyrics

I wanna ride through the canyons
I’m on the run with the horses
I’m gonna change with the season
I wanna live for a reason
I wanna sing for the people
I gotta hide from the needle
I’m on the run from addiction
I’ gonna dance with the devil yea

I’m already gone
Won’t you play along
With all my stupid fucking games
I’m already gone

You’re always playing the victim
You really know you’re addicted
Don’t wanna live in a prison
I’m gonna sink in the ocean
I’m on the run from the system
I watch the sun burn their vision
I’m gonna fly with the angels
I’m gonna dance with the devil yea

I’m already gone
Won’t you play along
With all my stupid fucking games
I’m already gone
I’m already gone
I’m already gone
I’m already gone

You take away everything
You never given back to me
Just take away everything
You never give it back to me

I gotta kill the addiction
I gotta kill the addiction
I gotta kill the addiction

I’m already gone
Won’t you play along
With all my stupid fucking games
I’m already gone
I’m already gone
I’m already gone
I’m already gone

I gotta kill the addiction
I gotta kill the addiction

This song rocks, even if the lyrics aren't the best......... (head banging). The song is about wanting more out of life, and just trying to make everyday hype out of thin air just by doing stupid bullshit all the time. It's true to my life, so im down.

i think it could be about addiction. wanting to feel more out of life... everything he wants to do to feel but cant and is in a sort of denial or optimism until the drug addiction creeps up as the lyrics progress and he eventually just throws it all away for the high.. then back and forth addiction struggles and then about killing the addiction repetitively to end the song.

thats just one take of course... and ive struggled with addiction myself so i can see that perspective. another way to look at it is basically what the above user said i guess. but yeah who knows really, all songs have multiple meanings.. and the more vague they are the more ways you can see them.. puddle of mudd lyrics are usually pretty straight forward and basic as far as lyrics go. not a bad thing in my book. i like all types. anyway, enough about lyrics, haha. dunno why i went into that. just saying.. i mean when it comes to song meanings you never know what the actual meaning is unless the one who wrote it tells you OR the song is just so basically written and so straightforward that anyone can tell... but even then... words can always have multiple meanings, even in the most basic form. anyway, i see this song only has one post... oh well.. hope more people check it out in the future. p.o.m. has some great songs... and if you like nirvana you should check em out. great sound, powerful soulful music, from the heart. a great song from the latest album (07) release is "radiate" - shows a lighter side but still powerful and more developed p.o.m. beautiful song. but otherwise despite what others say i know come clean was a great album but i think life on display was great as well and there are tons of great songs on both cds. of course id have to say come clean had many more, nearly the whole cd while life on display not as much and their latest, well maybe the same... but radiate i must say is awesome, best song i say on that album. hope to see better stuff in the future. peace.

@Stringz I actually like LOD better than Come Clean. I think CC has some weaker tracks like Said and Piss It All Away (although those songs were originally on their independent album Abrasive which is actually their weakest album so...) whereas on LOD every song sounds great to my ears and even the weakest song, Think, has some redeeming qualities about it. Though that's just my cents which aren't worth shit in the real world. Peace!
