Two nights ago I was shot
A bullet sunk straight through the skull
A friend pulled the trigger that silenced me
No pain as I awoke, but dead
Seeing the face of the man
The time as he lays down his gun
I knew this was going to take place
White silence, so peaceful, so numb

No one knows the time they're changing
No one will see through

You're all gone to me, (gone to me)
I've been pulled out to watch from my eternal sleep
Intuition and a warning to believe (I will believe)
Something was wrong and though I felt I had to stay
Moving on seemed to be somber bliss
Without one goodbye
I watch my mother shed tears

No!
This gun has stopped time in its tracks
Has altered the course of my fate
Destiny is shattered and timeless
Closed eyes feel the cold winds embrace

I'll watch you call, calling for me,
You can't bring back time
Close your eyes and look away,
Fate exposed, won't let me stay
Hope will fall tonight with broken wings,
Descending entity in me

My voice has been taken from me
The more I listen, the more I have to say

You're all gone to me, (gone to me)
I've been pulled out to watch from my eternal sleep
Intuition and a warning to believe (I will believe)
Something was wrong and though I felt I had to stay
Moving on seemed to be somber bliss
Without one goodbye
I watch my mother shed tears
And taste the blood that she cries,
And taste the blood that she cries

I'll watch you call, calling for me,
You can't bring back time
Close your eyes and look away,
Fate exposed, won't let me stay
Hope will fall tonight with broken wings,
Descending entity in me
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
Oh yeah

This song just sends chills through me everytime I hear it. I think it has more than 1 meaning to it. Obviously, One meaning is a friend who shot him and how everything is because of it. Another meaning is how I feel about it. A friend has betrayed him, turning his whole life around and how much it hurts everyone.....

This song is hypothetical. He is telling a story of himself being shot and what would happen...how his destiny was shattered and fate was altered all becuase of one gunshot. Instead of what could have been, there is only his mother crying and his ghost looking down on her.

A really well written song if you ask me...

because of the chorus, i could almost think that the gunshot death was accidental, and then we've all heard stories of out of body experiences after death, so the Vic is out of his body, watching his shooter call for him to come back. the sad thing is he's already dead, and is a spirit watching over the people he had in the world of the living, and he sees them live their lives and has things he wants to say, but no one can hear him anymore, kind of like iexertinertia said

i cant quite put my finger on this one but i think it's about how aclose friend of his betrayed him. but what made it worse was that he didn't even go behinde his back he did it right in front of him. and i guess this was some sort of huge betrayl bc i think he leaves but something stops him and makes him turn back and he see's how much, whatever it is that his friend did, hurts his mother and how much she missses him.

but i dunno. bc the chorus is so... deeply, and bluntly, about death that it doesn't realy fit with my scenario. every time i hear "I'll watch you call, calling for me, you can't bring back time... Close your eyes or look away, fate exposed and won't let me stay Hope will fall tonight with broken wings, descending entity in me"

I think about someone sitting at a persons deathbed and the dying person is telling the other person that when i die i know you cry for me to come back but, you can't take back time. all that time we could have spent together but didn't...we can't have it back. then as they're about to die they tell the person to look away and not to watch them die bc this is their fate for them to die and they have to go. i love when they sing "Hope will fall tonight with broken wings" it's the epitome of absolute sorrow.

I just need to say this: this song rox.

It seems to be exploring death, that, if souls do linger in this world, they would be overseeing what's going on and the grief their close ones are experiencing, yearning to comfort them, just that they have no voice.

I think that means that his close friend that betrayed him wasn't able to kill him. He knew this was suposed to happen so hes telling his "friend" to look away and do it.

    ;) best song

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
