I go downstairs, trembling
We are the, we are the monsters in the night
I try so hard to pray them all away
but it's not working tonight.

Sinking down upon dirty ground
My heart has stopped inside of me
Break my legs to hold me to you;
sulfur breathed into my head.

Falling, can't you hear my calling
Running, catch my hand and hold me.

i think that eisley writes their songs very deep. and i think you have to think about it harder to get it. so it might not be just 'sleepwalking' because what would that mean?

I think, this song is a about a problem or a relationship. "we are the monsters of the night" could mean this is the part of me that is wrong and i've been praying it all away but, it's just not working.

sinking down on dirty ground could be getting deeper into the problem and it's just not good. Heart has stopped inside of me could mean that they are feeling sad or like they can not love because of this. " break my legs to hold me to you " this problem is keeping me from being with you so you do whatever to hold me to you. sulfer breathed into my head could be anything really.

They left out some lyrics.. "Quiet falling all around me Fall onto my knees before you. break the tie that binds me to it fall away from this"

im realizing my problem and i fall onto my knees infront of you and break all my problems and fall away from it all.

    it could be about god...

    sounds like it.

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
