Try Some, Buy Some Lyrics

Way back in time
Someone said try some
I tried some
Now buy some - I bought some . . .
Oh oh oh
After a while
When I had tried them
Denied them
I opened my eyes and
I saw you . . .

Not a thing did I have
Not a thing did I see
'till I called on your love
And your love came to me

Oh oh oh oh oh oh

Through my life
I've seen gray sky
Met big fry,
Seen them die to get high . . .
Oh oh oh
And when it seemed that I would
Always be lonely
I opened my eyes and I saw you

Not a thing did I feel
Not a thing did I know
'till I called on your love
And your love sure did grow

Oh oh oh oh oh oh

Won't you try some
Baby won't you buy some

Won't you try some
Baby won't you buy some

personally, i relly dislike this song, but as there nare no comments here, and also nothing that explains this, i though i would give a bit of info: this is a cover of George Harrison's song. i'm sure there is discussion there for anyone searching for a deeper meaning.

: )

opening is great though. I don't like it neither.

I think it's about a person whose been on cocaine or some other form of drug and is slowly falling back into reality ..it shows how hard it is just to fall back into reality and how your brain has been basically sent through a real huge grinder only to barely make it out alive again..

I think this song is about someone struggling with quitting drugs until they find God. God's love helps them to get off of drugs for good, and to live a better life. DB's version of this song is the best, and the most touching. Keep up the good work, DB!

the clue is only a love to someone, not necessary to be god though

@anam3cara That's right. The lyrics do not disclose the nature of the loved one. Normally one would expect it to be a person, but knowing George, it might just as well be the Almighty. Before doing a live rendition of this song in 2002, Bowie says he really loves this song (and he hopes he does it justice that night). It might be because both he and George Harrison knew the delights of cocain and had a troublesome relationship with it. Both have tried and denied some, opened their eyes to love, saw people around them die (to get high) but...
