Yeah these lyrics are a bit wrong. Love it still. guk songwriting's gotten really refined, love the way he turs the table in the last couple lines "Someday I'll be free, you'll wait for me, for hours" genius...

Great song. Clearly, it's about someone wanting more out of a relationship than the other person is giving. Keep waiting, and waiting, and one afternoon you realize you're better off alone. It's a sad song, actually.
