Talking Lyrics

Talking about our life, no matter how much I don’t like
Talk is never cheap between you and me
Look at how far we’ve come, and still we always come undone
Maybe that’s how it always has to be

I'm out here alone, talking on the phone
Tensions are rising, it’s never surprising
This is the way it goes
Maybe we’ll fall in love when I get home

Talking about our life, seems like we never get it right
But we always get an A for effort
We sweat to find what to say, communication’s the only way
If we ever hope to stay together – Communicate!

I'm out here alone, talking on the phone
Tensions are rising, it’s never surprising
This is the way it goes
Maybe we’ll fall in love when I get home

Tell me the problem, I wanna know
If there’s a solution, I'll fix it now
And if there isn’t, I'll just be there
If I don’t say something, don’t say I don’t care

Well, I go yaddaddayaddaya, and you go yaddaddayaddaya
Yaddaddayaddayadda is what we gotta do

I'm out here alone, talking on the phone
Tensions are rising, it’s never surprising
This is the way it goes
Maybe we’ll fall in love when I get home

I don't know Milo personally but I'm fairly certain I read about this album happening during a tough patch in his personal relationship. Pretty sure this song is about his wife and their life at the time.

I love this song! It seems to be about a guy who works all the time and is never home and the only time he talks to his wife is on the cell, which is posing a growing problem for them. It also seems that there is some sort of communication problem between them.

I just love the line "Well, I go yaddaddayaddaya, and you go yaddaddayaddaya Yaddaddayaddayadda is what we gotta do "

my interpretation of this song is from my experience. When he says "maybe we'll fall in love when I get home." this being the chorus it sounds like it happens a lot. They fight a lot and often feel out of love, even though they both love eachother dearly. He's out there on the phone all alone, because he dropped whatever he was doing at the time for his girl.

'Tell me the problem, I wanna know If there’s a solution, I'll fix it now And if there isn’t, I'll just be there If I don’t say something, don’t say I don’t care '

She's upset, many girls/people when they're upset dont know how to communicate, or tell you why they are upset. In his position he's there and wants to help but he doesnt know how. If she would tell him whats wrong he would fix it, and if he couldnt hes there for her, which is the next best thing. He may not know what to say to get you to talk but he wants you to know he's still there and he still cares very deeply for whats bringing her down.

In conclusion, it seems like they fight a lot because they can't communicate. They feel upset but don't know how to tell the other person. one, or both of them are atatching themselves to the other, pushing the other away. or just knotting themselves up together.
