Excellent song from an excellent album. Chuck sings of hypocrisy in the church, for the sake of clarity: simony. The subject of the song uses his position in the church (minister) for his own self benefit despite the very teachings of Christianity. "Preach the good word Speak no more, prepare to burn" signifies the man's eternal punishment, on earth and in hell, for his vile acts of simony.
Actually it's really about spiritual healers giving sick patients false hope in their 'alternative medicine' when the faith healers know that they don't actually possess the power to heal. Which is generally all faith healers.
This album came out after James Randi exposed Peter Popoff as a fraud on TV.
It is about people who commit terrible acts in the name of god (any god).

its simply about narrow-minded religious people who wage wars against other religions just because they don't believe the same thing. this song also makes clear that religion is hypocritical since it preaches that no one should kill, yet religion itself is the cause for most of the wars that plague our world.

Religions arent all religions of peace. some of them preach the killing of individuals or groups for any reason. + this is more about spiritual healers that give sick people false hope by saying that they have a gift from god that makes them able to heal. Wich is not the case and they know it (the spiritual healers) so they end up killing their patients that couldve lived if they received real medical care.
