...well I almost agree with both of the last posters...

I think this songs main them is the conscience in each of us, trying to be always a better self, but at some cost that can be sometimes dangerous, and that we may be lazy for doing what we want/should do... most of the time people do their daily activities without thinking what they are really doing and most important ..for what...but when anybody come to think of it carefully, it might think of a way to improve his/her life, but that doesn't always means it's going to happen... How many time has anybody planned something and didn't do it???? ¬¬

Well here is where you are wrong King_Nothing2 he's not always trying to be a hard ass these things as you should know since you know what most of his lyrics are about. He takes emotions angry, sad, confused, shit like that. Just because he expresses himself in an angry way doesn't make him "a tough guy" look past the heavy guitar riffs or the growl the melodies and the lyrics are what people should judge on if he's trying to be a hard ass. Yeah sure "I Fucking Hate You" did kind of break the limits of hard ass and not but obviously he had a hell of a good reason. I'm aslo getting sick of people's favorite song or the only song they want to listen to is Voodoo. Yeah it's a kick ass song but look into the other 37 songs.

I agree so much with Dreaming Child, Its kinda scary!! Sully isnt trying to be a ''tough guy'' But to each his/her own there was someone else ommenting saying he doesnt beleive in god....hes A WICCAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is the song i always listen to whenever i get too depressed... it reminds me no matter what is eating away at me, it doesnt control me i control myself... "Death will come when i'm good and ready" is a really empowering statement and always makes me feel like i will survive until I decide and nothing else

Like it or not GodSmack is one of the best bands out there. I mean a lot of the chart toppers are hip hop and rap. OR that pop punk crap. Sully brings his emotion in a great way. With the talent of the rest of the band

Alot of Godsmacks songs have wiccan influence in them, which kicks ass by the way. but i would say that "I" in this song would be some kind of subconsious whatever it is. like a descision maker, "I am your lighted way".

I agree with Stitchy about the subconscious thing. It seems that Sully is speaking for different, conflicting sections of the mind.
