River Below Lyrics
Rejected since day one
My name is bastard son
I've been damned so many times I've lost count
Blue collar, working man
Devises master-plan
Bipolar with a mental side arm
I'm sick and I'm twisted
I'm broken; you can't fix it
Don't make me 'cause I'll do it
Red button and we'll all go
Into the river below, running from the inferno
They'll think I'm insane, but you'll all know my name
Into the river below, running from the inferno
I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
Contraption made of bones
Nuts and bolts creates the
New monster to burn your family tree down
Tick-tocking--time's up now
Split second--the world frowns
Lonely heart--never had nobody
I'm sick and I'm twisted
I'm broken; you can't fix it
Don't make me 'cause I'll do it
Red button and we'll all go
Into the river below, I'm running from the inferno
They'll think I'm insane, but you'll all know my name
Into the river below, running from the inferno
I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
[Repeat: x4]
Into the river below
Into the river below, I'm running from the inferno
You'll think I'm insane, but you'll all know my name
Into the river below, running from the inferno
I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
Yeah, I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
My name is bastard son
I've been damned so many times I've lost count
Blue collar, working man
Devises master-plan
Bipolar with a mental side arm
I'm broken; you can't fix it
Don't make me 'cause I'll do it
Red button and we'll all go
They'll think I'm insane, but you'll all know my name
Into the river below, running from the inferno
I'll take all the blame, the front page, and the fame
Nuts and bolts creates the
New monster to burn your family tree down
Tick-tocking--time's up now
Split second--the world frowns
Lonely heart--never had nobody
I'm broken; you can't fix it
Don't make me 'cause I'll do it
Red button and we'll all go
They'll think I'm insane, but you'll all know my name
Into the river below, running from the inferno

I agree with the BOMB theory aswell due to the "Contraption...made up of Nuts and bolts...creates the New monster...to burn your family tree down" which suggests it.
Basically i think the song has to do with a social reject who wants to be in the eye of society. The only way they can do this is to destroy it because as the song says "I'am sick and I'am twisted". So how does he destroy society by a bomb and if he pushes the button then everyone will know who he is and think he's insane but if someone had actually took interest in him then he wouldn't have been drove to such awfull things.
The song could be linked to the A-Bomb and things like that due to the line quoted at the start of the video "I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds" by J. Robert Oppenheimer. I looked this up and well here is a link to the page i found http://www.atomicmuseum.com/tour/tr5.cfm
Also the video shows a lonely man alone who happens to have a huge home made bomb in his garage. eveything around him is telling him to detanate it; billy talent singing about it, bombs on tv, news paper clippings saying he will be famous and even the blueprints. So he does it, and well then we all fall into the river below which to me symbolises the core of the earth a molton river for thats all thats left after he kills society.

I was watching an interview with them, and they said that they wrote it just after the DC sniper incident and started thinkin about Timothy McVae(however you spell it) and the Oklahoma bombing and were kind of inspired to get in to the mind space of a Straight Arrow, Ex-military man pushed too far.
Damn ruben, I've looked at the lyrics you've submitted, and you REALLLY suck at trying to type down the lyrics from what you hear.. you were way off on this one..
I believe the song is comparing, The mind of a bi-polar person, to an atomic bomb on a timer. basically when a person finally snaps the consequences are that of the atomic bomb as they uncontrollably destroy the world around them.
This is why there are both strong references to the atomic bomb and bi-polar person. They are pointing out the the atomic bomb was kinda a bad idea , as well as relating it to a bi-polar person and the loss of control that occurs when they go off. all hell breaks loose.
what DOES this song mean? i like the second verse a lot, but what does the song MEAN? lol and thanks feather for the real lyrics, i read the other ones and thought.... uhhh does this person have ears? cheez.
I personally think it could be about the Green River Killer. I mean he had said "I've killed so many people I have a hard time keeping them straight," and the song says "I've been damned...so many times I've lost count." And of course there's the title.
This song is about a person who gets frustrated in life and starts building a bomb. You know the idea
It could be about someone with bi-polar too and the frusterations that come with the territory
this song means this guy is sick of being outcast and rejected by people, he just wants ppl to like him and pay attention to him, he feels unloved. so the "red button" would have a double purpose-to get his anger at not being important to anyone out and also to make ppl know him and know he's alive, even if he's known for something bad. i dunno, maybe im totally off, but thats what i get from it
