I'm holding out and I'm holding on
To every letter and every song
I wrote myself out of the day we ever had to meet
You through with me?
So
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
(Let's go!)
I'm all ears and I'm all scars
To hear you tell me "Boy's like you, you try too hard
To look not quite as desperate"
Well I'm hanging on
But I still know the way to make your makeup run
So
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell (Take this to your grave)
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face? (And I'll take it to mine)
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes
To every letter and every song
I wrote myself out of the day we ever had to meet
You through with me?
So
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
(Let's go!)
I'm all ears and I'm all scars
To hear you tell me "Boy's like you, you try too hard
To look not quite as desperate"
Well I'm hanging on
But I still know the way to make your makeup run
So
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face?
And when it all goes to hell (Take this to your grave)
Will you be able to tell me "sorry" with a straight face? (And I'll take it to mine)
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes to hell
And when it all goes

so many f*cking posts here... you've got to love those shitty tasteless ultra mediatized bands of today! that's so sad but true i've got to LOL & :'( when others late greats like let's say, Fugazi...the smiths...iggy pop or Jane's addiction... barely has visitors huhuhu :o that is sick, + that says a lot about you all lazy youngsters... having a whole generation who's taste are as this determined by what the media is willing or has the nerve to expose.. well shit you might aswell go having a big zero for culture slapped on the forehead to make it all even clearer!
but can't help to be growing up with all the dull & mundane crap we've all come to overdose on, with such awesome music channels and ... well to just be part this human race being so 'conditionable' in the first place........... well i guess it's not all ONLY your fault..! -___-
It's funny that you're criticizing this band, when, if you look back, all of the "greats" you listed have had critics of their own. Back when they were around, there were people just like you who talked about how mundane and unoriginal and shitty The Smiths or Iggy Pop were/was, and I'm sure they referenced some earlier music.

It's important to recognize the history of music and all of the important musicians who helped pave the way, but I think it's ridiculous to say that an entire generation of music is useless and mundane, and that the culture that follows it is conditioned to think it's good. Every generation has it's successes and failures, and while Fall Out Boy may not be on your top 100 list of greatest bands in the 21st century, they kind of started a little musical revolution. Yes, they're definitely pop, and they'd never argue otherwise. But The Beatles were pop, too. Paul McCartney is kind of one of the leaders of the genre. They may have been more pop than punk, but so what?

My point is that every band and musician has its hits and misses. I guarantee that in 20+ years, because of the crowds and scenes that FOB has pulled together, this is the band that a bunch more snot-nosed, arrogant pretentious kids will be referencing, talking about how today's music and generation don't know good music and how Fall Out Boy really knew how to make it happen. Your opinion is yours to keep, but you're being a bit ridiculous with your argument.
