Velvet Lyrics

Happy in her soft red dress.
The worst nightmare there ever was,
I wake up, shaking, thinking of,
Her big black eyes that shone like stars.
Bashed her head against the wall
I pulled out mostly all her hair
Dragged her through the dirt and grass
But velvet never seemed to care

Plastic hands that held and moved, and
Eyes that gleamed with trusting light,
And I, all adolescent dumb
Abandoned velvet in the night
I am so guilty I can't speak
And though she's never far from mind
It's far too late to change this end
My velvet's crushed and left behind

So beautiful and I destroyed you,

So innocent and I ruined you
So trusting and I betrayed you,

So precious and it's all my fault

This song must be about a girl and the way she treats her doll, she mentions plastic hands. But now that this girl is growing up, she doesn't need the doll anymore and she feels like she betrayed and abandoned this toy. The doll was so beautiful but over the years it got worn out and now it's destroyed. Together when the girl was little they were both innocent but now the girl may not be so innocent, it doesn't match with the doll so it's ruined. Whenever the girl was in need of a friend the doll was there for her right by her side and now the girl has moved onto better things and has real friends, so she betrayed the doll.

i love the lyrics. they tell such a sad and beautiful story. that's one of the reasons why i love The Birthday Massacre. they tell stories. i wish i could actually listen to this song, but i don't know where to get it. it sounds like its a really rare track. :/

This song apparently was played live while they were still named Imagica, but a studio recording of it was never made. The same is true with "Make Believe". So, unfortunately, that means this song is impossible to find. According to the FAQ on their board, thr short demo tracks that show up on various places on thr web that claim to be this track and "Make Believe" are not really those songs. They're just unfinished demos of other songs.

Thanks for the information. Even if it's disappointing to know, at least I won't continue to search for something that's not there.
