Broken Lyrics
Time is the promise
It turns and tells them what to do
It makes them dishonest
They let the suspicion kill the truth
Broken Heart, Broken Mind
When you let me in
Did you not know where I had been?
And love's what they wasted
A lie that makes their dreams come true
They're hiding their faces
Their smiles can break the heart in two
Broken Heart, Broken Mind
When you let me in
Did you not know where I had been?
It turns and tells them what to do
It makes them dishonest
They let the suspicion kill the truth
When you let me in
Did you not know where I had been?
A lie that makes their dreams come true
They're hiding their faces
Their smiles can break the heart in two
When you let me in
Did you not know where I had been?

When I hear I think of, cheating, lying. Just their love falling apart. "Broken heart, broken mind. When you let me in. Did you not know where I had been?" Is saying the lovers heart is broken they believe their lover is cheating. There letting there suspicion get in the way rather it's true or not. The other lover had been out cheating thats where they've been. "And loves what they wasted.." Is saying the cheater is wasting their love away. They lie so they can have both their lovers, but the suspicion is catching up with the cheater.
That's just my opinion. I love TBM and this song is really a great song. It is defently about a break up or not being loved.
This song has amazing bass. The beat is a little dark, a little mad sounding which goes with the lyrics that have the theme of deception and decit within a meaningful relationship. Cheating? Lying? Who knows. I cannot begin to guess
I think this song is about a twisted love story. The love between those 2 is poisoned, for some reason (paranoia? envy?) . The poison is pouring into them, and eventually poisons their mind as well. Great song, here's one song i'd like to hear on the dancefloor :)
seems like the person is jaded..
AlecsPen is correct. The lover infected with HIV knows no one will ever want him if they knew about his disease, so he hides it. When he has sex with a new person, they don't know ("when you let me in, did you not know where I had been?").
"They let suspicion kill the truth" makes me think someone only BELIEVES someone is lying, but I don't know...
This isn't going to make much sense, but to me, PERSONALLY [no corrections, please], but when I listen to this song it kind of sounds like a relationship. The two lovers despise each other, causing them to play games and then it ends up serious. Perhaps the boy abandoned the girl for fun, and she has come back to him, at his door saying "Broken heart, broken mind, when you let me in, did you not know, where I had bee?". Also, the lines "And loves what they wasted, a lie that makes their dreams come true", they've wasted their love by playing games and hurting each other and maybe their fooling themselves about how much they despise one another so they can fulfil their dreams of killing each other. Basically, the sound kind of sound very fast, dark, almost psycho. But that's just what I think. :D
Broken Heart, Broken Mind When you let me in Did you not know where I had been?
i think this part means, that their heart was broken, then someone else opened their heart to them when they weren't completely over their last heartbreak. maybe.
And love's what they wasted A lie that makes their dreams come true They're hiding their faces Their smiles can break the heart in two
love can make everything seem happy, but sometimes you just use it as a coverup for pain. like she rushed into a new relationship too soon when she wasn't over her last one.
that's all i get out of it right now.
They let the suspicion kill the truth
i really like that line because alot of times people tend to trust rumours or things that they suspect about people or things rather than the actual truth.
i love this song. basically, it's about the downward spiral of a loving relationship due to a lack of trust.
my favorite part is the chorus: "Broken Heart, Broken Mind When you let me in Did you not know where I had been?"
it basically screams out loud the flaws of the lover(s). they weren't entirely truthful about their intentions.
I think, it's about a 'couple' or these'friends' or whatever, and over time this protagonist lost major trust in another person, perhaps from lies this other person told, and suspucting the other was lying, their lies missed the whole 'truth' (the person's real personality) completely, hence verse 1.
Then in the chorus, I think it's just like, 'I know you're lying, so that leaves my mind and heart broken, why can't you just tell me the truth because I've been here through our whole relationship, have you NOT SEEN ME HERE!?'
verse 2, well, the lies got so swirled up in this huge fantasy, that this other peron is afraid so show their true colors now. The last line of that verse I think refers to the fact that this other person is really decieving and that the 'outer' personality is all fake (all the lies).
