Happy Birthday Lyrics

I think my friend said, "I hear footsteps."
I wore my black and white dress to the
birthday massacre, birthday massacre, birthday..
I wore my black and white dress.

I think my friend said, "Stick it in the back of her head."
I think my friend said, "Two of them are sisters."
"I'm a murder tramp, birthday boy", I think I said
"I'm gonna bash them in, bash them in", I think he said

Then we wished them all a happy birthday.
We kissed them all goodnight. Now he chases me to my room,
chases me to my room, chases me..
In my black and red dress.

I think my friend said, "Don't forget the video."
I think my friend said, " Don't forget to smile."
"You're a murder tramp, murder tramp", I think he said
"You're a murder boy, birthday boy", I think I said

"so is this an extended version or what? why are these lyrics different than all others?"

The version you posted is a fanfic (using lyrics from the song) by Living Evil over at SilentHillForum.

The song is obviously about invading a families house after they have celebrated someones birthday and then killing them all in their sleep. It seems they are relishing the fact as they are chasing each other around the house and seemingly videoing the massacre aswell (I think my friend said, "Don't forget the video." I think my friend said, " Don't forget to smile." )

What I can imagine.. she obviously has a broken state of mind. She goes to a party of one of her friends, but her other 'friends' (the voices, that only exist in her mind) tell her to kill the people at the party. Or maybe she doesn't even realize she is the one killing them, I could imagine her seeing her 'friends' murder the people, but she also 'taking part' when they tell her (stick in the back of her head, I guess a knife or such). But then the 'ghosts' of her dead friends are chasing her. Also 'Don't forget the video' I imagined her taking a photo/video with her 'friends' but obviously she is the only one appearing on them. Well this is only what I imagine.

My Interpretation

My interpretation of this song isn't so literal. The way I see it, it's using metaphors to describe a situation of blind faith. More specifically, doing a bunch of horrible stuff because your "friend" tells you to. And in the end, you find out they never were really a friend and just using you, and then they turn on you in the end.

Makes me think of a lot cliques in high school and such where some poor kid will do anything to get into a group, and they basically just use them for their own sick amusement. Make fun of them and such. And the person's so blinded by their desires to be accepted, they don't realize what they're doing and that they're gonna end up in a similar situation if they continue to follow out with these people. I've actually seen this happen with one of my friends, it was horrible.

The birthday party scene gives it a kind of false innocence, much like a lot of teasing and bullying might be viewed by some kids. They don't see anything wrong with it because they're just "playing around" and "having fun", but it can be extremely harmful, like a massacre.

So that's just what's always come to mind when I hear this song. Awesome music.

I like to think this song is about a couple who go and murder some friends who were all just enjoying a celebration or get together (obviously a birthday but could be something else like a sleepover? a mix of both imo) kinda reminds me of the relationship between maren and lee from bones and all

When I heard this song I thought that the lyrics were happier then they actually were. As I began to listen to it more and more I relized that the lyics were darker then they sounded.

I love the song totally and completely, from tune to lyrics!

So I work at Hot Topic, and hear alot of crappy music all the time, but this group was different. I was sitting behind the cash register, and then I heard this sweet, candy voice of a seemingly little girl, and later found her lyrics even more intense. Half way through the album I just abandoned my post for a corner with a speaker.

This song I think is the pinnacle of this album, the sound is wonderful and the lyrics just amazing; I cannot help but fall into a trance when I hear it. It almost holds some sick, perverted facination to it for me.

I think that the lyrics are very self-exclaimatory, though I would ask that you take a different take on the song. Why not take the already disturbed message further?

I think that this little girl, who is wandering around killing everyone, is actually schizophrenic; the male's voice is in her head telling her to do these things.

I just love to picture something like American McGee's Alice as the little girl, and the house like from Saw II. Now, just add some children, one with mental instability and an extra personality, and you have this horrible heroin daze covered in a spray of blood that is this song.

This song is so amazing, it's one of my favorites by TBM.

Who cares, this song is like auditory heroin.

Seriously, I heard this song looking for something along the lines of MDMFK, and I was shocked to find this band. The lyrics and her voice is almost hypnotic. The tunes are catchy, and it has the perfect balance of real instruments and electronic ones.

PS- Thank god she doesn't scream... that's why I can't stand Cradle of Filth.

before i listened to them, i thought they were some shitty death metal band. but i think i got them confused with tea party massacre or something.
