(We Were) Electrocute Lyrics

We were electrocute
In our has-been 1980's suits
So electrocute
Everyone we knew said it too
That's when even strangers knew our names
Ten years later sighed"what a shame"

We were electrocute
To make the point again is moot
Ssssssso electrocute
How on you I've wasted my youth
Your cold eyes of Coney Island sand
Hair dyed the blood of a foolish man

So proud to be by your side
We were a team no one denied

Even though I still miss your lips
You're about as real as your tits

LISTEN TO THE LYRICS!!!!!!!

...1980's suits... They had a relationship in the 80s.

So electrocute, Everyone we knew... when even strangers knew our names. He pointed out in an interview what really stuck out to him was that an old couple stopped them and siad they looked so "CUTE" together, hence, Electro-Cute.

Ten years later sighed "what a shame" Listen to September Sun. "Ten years amassed" Their relationship lasted ten years (rly???? :O)

to make the point again is moot... Trying to reignite the flame is pointless/debatable because she was a cheater.

How on you I've wasted my youth... He spent a great deal of his years with Elizabeth.

Your cold eyes of Coney Island sand. Hair dyed the blood of a foolish man. She PROBABLY had brown eyes. Her hair was red (Look it up on youtube.)

proud to be by your side... no one denied... Refer to earlier.

...I still miss your lips...about as real as your tits... She was fake. Simple as that.

Pyro is right. It's about Elizabeth. In an interview he said that people would stop them on the street and tell them what a cute couple they were so Pete said they were "Electro-cute" and he wasn't sure why he called themselves that, but it stuck. They were together for 10+ years.

Her hair was red, bright red. He really cared about her, but she fucked up... they both did.

A lot of their songs are about her

This song is about a girl that Peter Steele dated for a long time. Most believe it would be the infamous Elizabeth that seems to crop up in every album at some point.

Note that this couple they made- 'electro-cute'- because they were so striking together, people would stare at them. This has been confirmed in many interviews.

It can be inferred from the lyrics that this girl had grey eyes ('Cold eyes of Coney Island sand'), red hair ('Hair dyed the blood of a foolish man') and tits as fake as her personality. Best burn ever :)

I've often wondered how this girl feels now, especially about songs like this one.

@steele414 either loves the attention, doesn't care or hates him even more for it!

To me, this song is about being really trendy and popular when you're younger, but when you get older no one gives a damn about you anymore. And so, as is evidenced by the last two lines, the female of this relationship is trying to keep herself young for as long as possible, even though she's "about as real as her tits."

It's a good song, but I don't know what it means. About a couple like Bonnie and Clyde, maybe?

I feel it is about something or someone who was popular years ago and now isn't or something that was in the past...even a lover that someone now finds was just using him/her.

I think it is about being older and about "peter pan syndrome". Always wanting to stay as young and cool as possible.

I always took this song as a break up song. (We Were) meaning Peter and his girl. And the last line... "Even though I still miss your lips You're about as real as your tits" was just to stick it to the woman.

This song is about being young in the early 80s and belonging to the electro-pop/New Romantic scene.

this is a very stupid and pointless song , although it is one of my favorites from the life is killing me extended e.p., very meaningfull song and thoughtfull, if not the ut-most inteligent song on this maxi single. such a great song on this double album.

@necrophage more a personal track I would suggest ... the failings of relationships (the spark at the start and the doldrums that may develop if that relationship thrives on past success only).
