How Could She? Lyrics
Wilma Flintstone, Marcia Brady,
Alice Kramden, Gladys Kravitz,
Laverne and Shirley, Jeannie
Morticia Adams, Aunt Esther,
Sweet Polly Purebread, Natasha,
Mrs. MacGillicuddy
How could she?
Ginger, Mary Anne, Mrs. Howell,
Samantha Stevens, Lieutenant Uhura,
Judy Jetson
Olive Oyl, Ethel Mertz,
Edith Bunker, Marilyn Munster,
Rhoda, Penny Robinson
How could she?
Why don't you love me anymore?
Quite upset, angry, just plain annoyed
No recourse except for celluloid
In my heart, I know you are not real
Though in mind, suspect you still can feel
Walt Disney or Hanna-Barbera
Black or white, stunning Technicolor
Warner Brothers and the A.A.P.
I've become addicted to TV
Crissy Snow, Catwoman,
Creepela, Weezie Jefferson,
Betty Rubble, Little Cindy Who
Penelope Pitstop, Lois Lane,
Vanna White, Wonder Woman,
Elly May, Maude, Witchiepoo
How could she?
Why don't you love me anymore?

this song should get SIX stars.
Jambo, you hit it on the head, it's definitly about a loser who can't find his own girl so he obsesses over TV girls, but with Peter Steeles sense of humor, I think the chorus "Why don't you love me anymore" is the loser whining because all those shows have been cancelled, he's acting as if all those woman are his ex-girlfriends.
I think this one is about a lonely man in front of the T.V, he can't turn to real women because he's such a loser, and fantasises about the women on T.V in his dreams. However, his past experiences with women have made the women reject him even in his dreams. It is also helped along by his fan letters that were replied to before, but now go unnoticed and guys, come on, i've started 3 of tehse convos about T.O.N, so for the love of god someone needs to reply. and that's how much of a loser i am :)
The Jambo
Hit it on the head Jambo.
cheers man :) im really glad that somebodies answering as well you are a legend
That seems pretty accurate, jambo. Good song.
I love the faster bit in the middle. I often find myself humming this without even realizing it. ;P I think it's pretty interesting how much rougher it sounds. With the way it's laid out, I've always imagined it like a scene with the narrator watching TV in a dark room. At first, he's kind of muttering to himself and listing off names of these ladies, but then it goes on a bit. After thinking some more, he breaks himself from the daze and erupts into anger (the middle section). Then, he settles down a bit (back to the more legato part) and goes back into his sad state of loneliness... and perhaps even self-pity. Hey, that's just how I imagine it. [:
Is true...the people whose laughs at the intro, all are dead?
Pretty sure this song was about how his sister or someone signed Peter into an insane asylum, and all the TV references are all the shows he watched while he was inside. "How could she/you?" He's obviously questioning why they put him there. Just a more right sounding opinion..
