I sang this song for a talent show at my high school. You can search for 'jalyn and josh only one' on youtube. It is such a powerful and expressive, beautiful song. This song took my singing to an entirely new level, full of emotion. To me, it was about a guy making a mistake in a relationship, (nothing specific) and he knows he cant fix it, and hes really upset because he very much valued the relationship, adn she is the only one for him. However he knows she can do better, so he knows he has to set her free and let her find someone who wont let her down. A really powerful part for me is "Here i go so dishonestly" {he doesnt want to leave but he knows he has to} "and i know you can see right through me" {she kindof sees that he cant be the one she deserves} "so let me go, and you will find someone" {lets end this. so you can find someone better}
Yeah so its really sad. I could relate. Sometimes you feel like youre holding back the one you love. Its a terrible feeling. This song is so powerful and i love it.

This song, while it is sad and about a love he wants, is empowering. The chords, the melody, seem to make me strong and get over the girl i want... the one i can't have. I know this song is probably about a slightly different topic... it just works well for me, as does most Yellowcard..
This song is one of my favourite songs from yellowcard. The violins in it are beautiful, proving, if no one has believed yet, that Yellowcard put violins to good use. Also, in the chorus, when the main singer is literally scream-singing so high that it doesnt seem that he could go a higher pitch, it just sounds awesome. This is a sad song, I agree, and they really should make a video for this song. Soon too. This song is one of my most favoured songs on this cd, and it is a song I doubt anyone could say no to.

Wel my initial reaction to the song was that someone he loved died and he knows he can't get back to them so he just has to pick up the pieces and move on, but that person will still be in his heart
This song means so much more to me now than it ever did...My partner took his life 3 days after I left due to circumstances that gave me no choice. He had burned this song and many others onto CD's and left them on top of our puter. He had in many ways 'screamed his lungs out' to try to get to me....but I didn't get it. I didn't understand how desperate he was. I will never get over it. 'here I go, so dishonestly, leave a note, for you my only one'....Dishonestly, because he knew he was taking away my right to ever try to fix things. He was leaving me to battle the pain he had battled all his life. Because of his shame at leaving this way, because he gave up, and because he left a note instead of voicing the words that would have had me running to him in a second to stop him.
