Mr. Amsterdam Lyrics
I've said this before no matter how hard I try,
I can't help be bored while this world passes by.
So,
This revelation's got no meaning.
We've lost it all in hopeless dreaming.
Am I just losing grip?
Paint it black and just forget me.
This world's a sinking ship.
'Cause our baggage is too heavy
I can't stop believing that there's something to be said.
What are we achieving with the bull shit that we're fed?
I know I'm not gonna stay, or live to see the day,
this world comes to be, here's a resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
I've said this before no matter how hard I try.
I can't help be bored while this world passes by.
Don't tell me we're close to something, that we don't even understand.
We're prisoners to our homes.
Some might say we're all to blame.
The outside's so unknown.
I don't want you to complain.
I can't find the answers to save humanity.
I can't fight the anger.
Here's a resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
A resignation from me.
I can't help be bored while this world passes by.
We've lost it all in hopeless dreaming.
Paint it black and just forget me.
This world's a sinking ship.
'Cause our baggage is too heavy
What are we achieving with the bull shit that we're fed?
I know I'm not gonna stay, or live to see the day,

A resignation from me.

this song is about how technology has lazy'd the world, and how people just sit there on they're computer chairs getting fatter and fatter, ordering things online, doing everything to the least extant.
This is obviously about how people are so into looks and being cool and how everyone is so much like zombies and are all about hating everyone else who is "uncool"
I agree with Tyma5 when I look at the lyrics... but the name of the song leans me towards socalsum41fan.
i think it means everyone is becoming similar eg these lyrics
"These people, they just have no meaning. We've lost it all in hopeless dreaming. WELL I'VE JUST LOST MY GRIP!!! Paint it black and just forget me. THIS WORLD JUST MAKES ME SICK!!! "
I think mayby the first half is ablut the "Cool clones" and the second half is about the lazy technology addicts
I kinda get the idea of the song, but I have no idea why they called it "Mr.Amsterdam" .....What does it have to do with the capital of the Netherlands?
Deryck said he gives songs names that have nothing to do with the song, but maybe this one does I'm not sure.
jesus christ, rjbucs, you're off...did you even buy the cd? cuuuz it came with a lyric book...I'm posting a correct version
If anyone cares...these are my lyrics, i just had a bunch of errors posting it...eh, why bother...
These lyrics are on crack. I submitted the correct ones so who knows, maybe they'll get changed. To me, this song is about him expressing his frustration at the state of the world. I believe he sees people as greedy consumers, holed up inside their homes with technology and "stuff", not being a part of the world around them.
"This world's a sinking ship, 'cause our baggage is too heavy"
I think this line means we're literally consuming ourselves to the grave.
He talks about being bored while the world passes by and how his "revelation has no meaning". He thinks he's "losing grip" on reality and he doesn't think he can change anything so he issues a resignation from the bloated society. A lot of the other songs on this album deal with not conforming to society's cookie-cutter standards and distrusting lying authorities, so this song may tie in with those themes.
