Band Aid Covers The Bullet Hole Lyrics
Bees in the caramel and I'm not afraid
Surgeons make incisions
what a mess they've made
Tearing at my skin leaving knives in my brain
Stabbing at the voices making me insane
Girls vomit candy and lies that they're fed
Boys whisper lullabies and wet their beds
Eat TV violence on the toast that they spread
Talking with their mouths full here is what they've said
Say Hello to my Little friend the world is getting ugly
and we did it again....
Say Hello to my Little friend the world is getting ugly
and we did it again...
Ohh Uh Ohh The Band Aid only covers the Bullet Hole
Ohh Uh Ohh The Band Aid only covers the Bullet Hole
LA LA LA -LA LA LA LA LA LA-
Spiders in my hair and guns on my mind
Thinking about the people who've been so unkind
If looks could kill them
I might make myself blind
Startled at the reasons that I just can't find
Kids break the dishes they crash on the floor
Parents hate the noise and shove them out the door
Robots steal emotions hide them under their beds
It's gets them so excited
Here is what they've said......
Say Hello to my Little friend the world is getting ugly
and we did it again....

This song is so beautiful...The nursary ryme verses about pretty little candy, vomit,Knifes and spidrs. Then insane chrous about her little freind..I can relate.I do love.
I think this song is about how superficial everthing is these days, and how you can try to cover it up, but the wound is still there (the band aid only covers the bullet hole).
Even though I've only heard the samples on thier site, I already LOVE this song...
The first song that got me loving Scarling. Its almost pop-sounding. I agree with indignity, it seems to be how superficial everything is in the present.
She said she wrote this song after a dream she had.
I love it.
Band aid only covers the bullet hole seems to refer to the way charity can't make the world a better place. You can pretend you're helping by buying something from a charity shop or getting the band aid album, but the world still sucks. Jessika's still thinking bout killing people, and so are we, the media is still a bad influence, and a little money given to third world doesn't take back the fact that we made the world ugly XD
I like whawt KillMeFaster said about how superficial everything is. "Girls vomit candy and lies that they're fed/Boys whisper lullabies and wet their beds" We impose ridiculous standards and we're screwing ourselves up, girls with eating disorders and how it's just inappropriate for males to cry and little boys whispering lullabies and trying to comfort themselves but they can't openly do so..you could also link that to "Robots steal emotions hide them under their beds".. I also think the 'little friend' can mean anything to anyone, a vice, a habit, that can take on a personal meaning. Although, psychedelic, I do see what you mean! Curious. It's a really beatiful song =)
I think it might be about someone trying to help her through a hard time but the hurt still being there because a band aid wouldnt help heal a bullet hole
yeah, I agree with psychedelic about the band aid hving 2 meanings and referring to attempts (i.e. live 8 last year) at so-called "charity" to the 3rd world- although live 8 may have been about improving the lives of those in the 3rd world (like it did that! HA), I think to a certain extent it was also just an attempt to promote ageing artists no longer in their prime who need more record sales in order to buy more fancy houses when they could REALLY be "making a difference" instead. Perhaps the song's suggesting that the West, after fucking up the world, feels ashamed and is now trying to wash away the scars of the past (i.e. the evil of slavery) by pathetically trying to put a band aid on the wound/put on live aid. It's a gesture, not a serious action which will have any impact on those it is supposed to "help"- like a placebo. I also think it could be about disconnection of humans and how we home in on the little insignificant things instead of concentrating on what's more important, ie: "Kids break the dishes they crash on the floor/Parents hate the noise and shove them out the door"
Whatever the meaning intended this is just a beautiful song. ;)
