Against the odds, the shining star crashed down on me
I was just wondering
If you had a cure, a remedy
Would you give it up?
To fix my broken dreams
Would you come with me?
Running, I’m running
Home. To the place where I belong
I don’t want to stay
Would you come rescue me before I go insane
I don’t know what went wrong but it’s over now
In the end you would leave me for another guy
In the night when I don’t want to be alone
When I don’t want to watch another TV show
I look around and I wonder where you’d be
I don’t need you. You need me, why can’t you see
These lies don’t work for me
Without me what would you be?
I was just wondering, why you’re still in my head
I don’t know if I’m going to stay
Will I go away?
Would you come?
Rescue me before I go insane
I don’t know what went wrong
But it’s over now
In the end, you would leave me for another guy
These lies don’t work for me
Without me what would you be?
I was just wondering why you’re still in my head
I don’t know if I’m going to stay
Will I go away?
Would you come?
Rescue me before I go insane
I don’t know what went wrong
But it’s over now
In the end, you would leave me for another guy

Damn, such a great song to listen to on the road. But yea, I agree that it seems to be about somebody not going for help from others. If he falls, he'll remember to get back up (save game). He marches to the beat of his own drum, he'll fix his own mistakes, live his own life. I don't necessarily agree with this viewpoint on life but that seems to be the case with this person. Like every person in America? I wouldn't go that far ;) But I may agree with the angst part, that everyone is wrapped up in their own personal fable, the little drama that goes on in their head when blowing things out of proportion.
