The Day Seattle Died Lyrics

Turn all the lights down low
Try to fade your apathy
Made up a world where you can even be you
Star in a tragedy
Shadowed voice on an open court
They light up around the world just to hear you scream

Blown away by fame
We could all feel the shotgun hit the floor
Nevermind in faith
If you can't believe

Drowning in misery
The nightmare begins when you close the door
You sat in your angry chair and just tried to be you
The needle became your queen
The drug had become your enemy
And music was just a way for you to bleed

Blown away by fame
We could all feel the shotgun hit the floor
Nevermind in faith
If you can't believe

Blown away by fame
We could all feel the shotgun hit the floor
Nevermind in faith
If you can't believe
And you won't believe
And he can't believe

Blown away by fame
We could all feel the shotgun hit the floor
Nevermind in faith
If you can't believe

Blown away by fame
We could all feel the shotgun hit the floor
Nevermind in faith
If you can't believe
And you won't believe
And he can't believe
And they won't believe
And they can't believe

You have to remember that Kurt's style was an era thing. Regardless of whether or not you personally enjoyed his music, he was able to influence the lives of millions of people. That, in itself, is amazing.

The two verse's are more about Layne Staley while the chorus is about Kurt Cobain pretty much. The thing you guys haven't pointed out is that both Kurt and Layne died on the same day (April 5th) but different years and that's how the title came. Kinda weird that two of Grunge's most famous singers died on the same day don't you think.

this song is just about grunge dying on april 5th. When Kurt died, grunge pretty much was dead right than. Cause if nirvana, and some of these great grunge bands were still around, im positive that hip hop would never have gotten this big, especially if nirvana broke up but then got back together to make another album like 6 years later. That would have been huge
