I can't believe no one's commented on this song! It's so f'ing amazing...made even better because it puts words to so many of the relationships I've had...

he and his girl are going through a rough stretch, but they decide to go to a party anyway... she's being standoffish to him, so he goes outside to wait... she stays at the party and has a good time completely forgetting about him..

I don't think the song is about a party at all. Even though there may have been a party, I think it's about the fact that he's just waiting on her to make her decision. He's wondering whether he should just save himself the emotional freezing and leave, but instead he sits. Numb, shaking, and wondering if he'll completely freeze, he waits on someone that he can't give up on.

yea i think its more about her saying we need a break or ending things and him jsut wiating for her. Waiting for nothing pretty much.

I’m at a party or I’m at this place and someone is kind of abandoning me inside, and I have to go outside and deal with the fact that I’m being ignored, and you can take that at face value, but also I think the fact that I’m outside in the cold can be representative of feeling alone, and feeling abandoned you know, and yeah it can definitely be a metaphor.

SHIT!!! This song is so emotionally charged. I'd bet that Ben has actually put himself or thought of putting himself in this particular situation just to avoid telling his girl something and pissing her off, because either way the bitch might be willing to ditch him just to have fun for the night. So instead of risking all of this, he would much rather go outside and wait for her. And while waiting, the bitch has no realization of where he is and still having fun without him being there. OUCH!!! And much like me in my previous relationship, he is putting himself aside just to keep what he wants...her. Man, he really puts good detail on just how much he is suffering and willing to suffer only to wait for her. My best wishes for Armor For Sleep, they are one of the most talented groups that I have had the pleasure of discovering. It is 2006 now and still their music seems timeless as I find more and more songs to become my favorite. PLEASE KEEP UP YOUR GOOD WORKS!!!!!

I never quiet understood this song, but It just meant so much to me, I wasn't even sure why... I loved it. Then one day I skipped school to go over to this guy's house that I liked... It was early in the morning and he said he'd be waiting for me... I rang the doorbell and knocked and waited and he never came..... This song came into my head right then and I quietly sang it to myself, while fucking freezing myself since It was winter. My favorite part of the song is "I think that maybe I should get up and just drive away I’m shivering hard now I’m shivering hard now My face has barely any feeling left anymore I’m shivering hard now I’m shivering hard now" And right when I finished singing that part, he opened the door. =]
