what i get from it in parts is you want something u dont have or want something different then how it is but when you realize it, you dont have it bad and its better then u think. and what you think is "perfect" isnt so good. but i dont know...thats me.

its pretty easy song to get its saying the grass isnt always greener on the other side and that you shouldnt take anything you have for granted because most of the time someone has it worse than

I love this song so much! This is my favorite Smile Empty Soul song. I think its about sometimes you see something and it looks so wonderful, but upon closer inspection, its just as shitty as the one u have. Maybe even shittier. lol. But yah, i agree with WiredMonKieKiller. lol. i like thier sn, too.

I love this song. You can tell Sean really puts a lot of emotion in it. The first time I heard it I cried..it gave me a vision of the little boy being beat by his father.
this song sounds like every night somebody looks at their neighbors house with their lights on and he dreams about having someone and not being alone but then later when the little boy runs up to him, he realizes its not as godd as it really seemed to be. and just because you have someone doesnt mean you have it good
I agree its about the whole grass is greener on the other side thing, but the fact that its about your abusive family makes it so much easier to learn that lesson though. Also I love this song and it has inspired a few of my short stories.
i think he talking from a family view. But you could also add way more meaning to this. But manily a family i mean come on who doesn't wish for a better family?
