I think these lyrics are wrong...

as many have said this song is about a guy...who lives life in the moment, does what he wants, when he wants and puts his girl on hold. i think its the girl whos at fault. this guy is trying to tell her to live in the moment and live whats real not what she wants to be real.

I noticed that nobody had commented on this song so I felt that I should. I think this is one of the best songs on "On and On..." I think it's about a girl who is with a guy who hasn't treated her well at all, but she stays with him anyway. She dreams of getting out of the relationship but always finds herself going back to him. The song is a message to do act and make yourself happy, "don't let dreams be dreams." In other words, make dreams into realities instead. That's my two cents. What do you all think?

I think that it's about a guy who isnt very faithful to this girl, and she basically puts her life on hold for this guy, and he makes up excuses for treating her bad "baby that was a long time ago" basically hes saying dont let your dreams be dreams, actually persue it

Once again (see tomorrow morning), this song is bound to jack's answering machine. he used to have this message for incoming calls saying that "well, now that it's summertime and the weather's fine, we're out for a couple hours but we will call you back .. " etc etc etc .. and he ended making a song out of it

Of course, it has nothing to do with the meaning of the song in the end, but i just thought i'd state that fact ;) It's a really nice song, and once again a pretty sad song about living up your own life/dreams instead of geting caught in a relationship that just eats you alive. I sometimes see some springsteen themes in johnson's lyrics, and it makes me feel good because springsteen has written some of the best lyrics i've ever heard.

Anyway, really good song, but pretty sad. Live up to your dreams people ;)

hmm... well, the girl wants and tried to leave - but the bad boyfriend follows her to keep her miserable and tells her that she needs his sorry ass because life is so tough. enter the jack who says - girl, its not so bad ... go on and do what you gotta do, do what you wanna do.

seems like this guy and girl are in a bad relationship but shes stuck w/ him bc theyve been together for so long...and she wants to make her dreams come true...but hes stopping her...bc he thinks dreams are just dreams..but jack thinks they're not...and dreams can be made into reality!

i think that this song is about a guy who was with a girl and he really damaged her self-esteem.
