Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
This is the first Sigur Ros song that I heard and it brought tears to my eyes. After listening to it on headphones (which I recommend) I started to notice small bits of music that I didn't hear before. This is such a great song, and as for it's meaning, to me it's many different things, depending on my mood. It can make me depressed because I start to think that this would make a great cuddle song and I have no one to cuddle with :(
Six and a half minutes of a repetitive piano refrain would be suicide for any other band, but Sigur Rós makes it beautiful. When it shifts up an octave near the end... oh man.
I will forever relate this song to Japanese suicides and contradictingly to happiness. This is due to my hearing this song (not for the first time) on a really well done short film not too far back. It was the perfect choice of song for the moment/events and lingers with me as such. Beautiful and mesmerizing.
If you listen in closely at the end of the song you can subtly hear the cloggin and tapping of the piano he used... the wood taps hitting the metal strings of the piano... That's what makes music brilliant! It's that! The little things... that make the song...
beautiful. one time i was listening to this song and it just made me think of a person running through masses of people looking for a person and near the end finding them and thinking about each other.
that is EXACTLY what i see. i often make my room as dark as possible. close my eyes til i reach a half awake state. sort of a subconscious and the most amazing images come to mind. your description is the most frequent for this track. absolutely amazing. it makes me cry everytime i listen to it. unbelievably simple yet moving.

Very simple, but still devine to listen to. Especially in the bath... haha.
When they played this in concert with the two disco balls, I nearly cried. Sigur Rós can make anything beautiful, even cheesy mirror balls.
this song is gorgeous. i love listening to the cd while i'm falling asleep, but this one is by far my favourite.
best song on the first half of the album
