Blood Red, White, and Blue Lyrics
so come test, so come and break me, so come on intoxicate me with hands tied behind my back, I fight and wait for you to strike
a new problem we can't stop them, we're outnumbered and uncautioned, a rally cry ring out into the night
so pride yourself on what you are, hold them all to words they can't take back, I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams where fires die but light still shines for us to see
what did you have to say? give me your logic, your definition, the words you twist to justify your position of mass starvation and blind airstrikes, every problem is solved with a fight
peace won't be found, til we're underground, as long as we live without a sound
so pride yourself on what you are, hold them all to words they can't take back, I've seen a place (it comes) to me in dreams where fires die but light still shines for us to see
would God bless a murder of the innocents?
would God bless a war based on pride?
would God bless a money-hungry government? no.
would God bless our ineffective court system?
God bless the sweatshops we run.
would God bless Amerika?
God bless Amerika.

Stand up and revolt against the corrupt, murdering, war based, money-hungry, unfair government of Amerika for freedom, justice and life. The last part of this song is just AMAZING. Rise Against forever

The reason why i love this song so much. TIM ROCKS! RISE AGAINST ROCKS!!!
ameri'k'a = German style.
Great song, "Injustice, massacre, occupation, struggle, faith, freedom, life. Intifada."
I think the song is pretty self explanatory. Its about national pride (so pride yourself on what you are, hold them all to words they can't take back) and about militarism and how we distort stuff for reasons to "justify" these wars (give me your logic, your definition, the words you twist to justify your position of mass starvation and blind airstrikes, every problem is solved with a fight).
What I found rather interesting is that the "Your position of mass starvation and blind air strikes" is referencing what took place during Bill Clinton's term in office (not to say that this happened exclusively with Clinton). A legacy of the first Gulf War was the sanctions on Iraq which lead indirectly (with the help of their leader) to the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Iraqi citizens, an exceptionally large portion of which were malnourished children. Also during this time were missile strikes taking place in the War in the Balkans. Despite increased use of 'smart missiles,' most missiles the Americans used in this time were dumb missiles without advanced targetting technology. Naturally, this lead to the death innocent civilians and some rather unintended targets, like an asprin plant and the Chinese Embassy.
I always took to interpret "Hold them all to words they can't take back" as a call to defend the Constitution.
Perhaps my favorite thing about my song is that at the shows I've gone to, Tim will encourage people to register to vote and then dedicate the song to those who have.

An interesting part here is;
"Peace won't be found, Till we're underground, As long as we live without a sound"
In my opinion, this is the most important part of the song. Basicaly, it is saying we will never be at peace till we are dead unless we make our voices heard and make some noise, get some one to take notice of what is happening and get them to do something about it.
That is what this song tries to be. That sound that will awaken people and get them to take notice.
Most of the song is an attack on blind patriotism. The important line, "pride yourself on what you are". ON WHAT YOU ARE. Not what you see the nation as being, not what you are told it is, not what others see. What you are.
Of course, the song falls short. It isn't really an attack on the USA, but more a call to clean it up and do something about it. It is a plea for help, a plea that is ignored by those who would rather just cry out against Bush, while not adressing deeper problems.
Obviously its telling you to stand against our corrupted nation.
Amerika?
