Ammunition Lyrics
Blame it on what you're into
Blame it on your religions
Blame it on politicians
We're the issue
It's our condition
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
Our detonation
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We are the fuse and the ammunition
Show me my motivation
One world one desperation
One hope and one salvation
We're the issue
It's our condition
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
Our detonation
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We are the fuse and the ammunition
Look what a mess we've made of love
Look what a mess we've made
We've got ourselves to blame
Look what a bomb we've made of love
We're the issue
It's our condition
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
Our detonation
We've been blowing up
We're the issue
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We are the fuse and the ammunition
We're ammunition
We're ammunition
We are the fuse and ammunition
Ammunition
I love this song, the guitars are so intense. I think this song means that we shouldn't just blame our sins on things, when we're the problem(we're the issue). It says that we shouldn't also blow up because of our problems ( we are the fuse and ammunition.) The message is that we should take our problems to God (one hope and one slavation.)
hmm i kinda thought it was about wars... "Blame it on what you've been through Blame it on what you're into Blame it on your religions Blame it on politicians" like those r the reasons y wars happen so thats y i thought it was about war... i dunno hey
um im gonna piggyback off of pyro. this song is saying stop blaming the government, stop blaming the minorities, your past, and so on and so on but really if we wanna see change it's up to us...we are the powerkeg to cannon...like Gandhi said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world"
also i think it's sorta politely condemning what our society is like today and how corrupt it is.
"Look what a mess we've made of love
We've got ourselves to blame
Look what a bomb we made of love"
Is about when sometimes we are guilty with sin and try so hard to escape when soonly we relieze we are just human
i agree with pyro, it's about looking at yourself to see why you r in a situation that u shouldn't be, u can blame everyone else for your problem but it is ultamitely your fault.
piecesxofxyou really REALLY hit it on the nail. Way to go. It's awesome that some people actually listen to switchfoots lyrics and understand them lol.
I agree with PyroPenguin, but I also feel it is addressed to all of us, not just the youth. The chorus, "we've been blowing up / we're the issue", says that it's not other problems that have been blowing up, not other problems that are the issue: it's humanity that is the issue. We are ammunition with a short fuse.
So long as we keep trying to find other reasons (such as religion, politics, current trends, etc.) for the state of the world, and ignore that we are the root of it all, we will remain ammunition for further destruction.
The bridge ("look what a mess we've made of love") reminds me of the movie The Green Mile (didn't read the book, sorry), when John Coffey says "He killed them with their love for each other. That's how it is, every day, all over the world." We abuse love, we corrupt it, we use other people's love as leverage to control them.
I agree with PyroPenguin and japhy. I don't think it is just the youth of our nation though. Who are we learning from. Love now days it just about sex not what really maters. No one cares about each other anymore we all just want everything for nothing. We blame averyone else for aour problems with out looking at the source. As kids we blame our parents as parents we blame our athourites as athourites we blame God. However you want to but it we are pretty messed up!!!!
"Shoe" me my motivation? Hee hee! Does that mean give me a kick in the rear?
I almost agree with PyroPenguin, but "Look what a bomb we made of love" seems to make it seems that we've forgotten all about it, that as Christians our message of love has bombed. (not done well, as in bombing a test)
We've been too wrapped up in the issues to "love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
This applies to our schools too, so I agree but that's not what the song is about. It's about the idea of love to heal the world where we've lost all ties to each other, no real motivation, and such a desperate state: I have no generation Shoe me my motivation One world one desperation One hope and one salvation
