Lucky You Lyrics

They'll come soon
I keep waiting... and I wait...
Won't somebody...save me....

And if you're feeling lucky... come and take me home
And if you feel loved
If you feel lucky, if you feel loved
If you feel lucky, if you feel loved

You've crossed the walls - Excelled
Further along through their hell
All for my heart, I watch you kill
You always have, you always will
Now spread your wings and sail out to me.... [x2]

So if you're feeling lucky... come and take me home.
Come and take me home. [x4]

Yeah if you feel love...
(If you feel lucky, if you feel loved) [x6]

Crossed the walls - Excelled
Further along through their hell
For my heart
I watch you kill
You always have
You always will

You always have and always will
You always have
You always will
Spread your wings and sail out to me...

i could be totally wrong but after listening to this song several times i kind of paint a picture of the author (chino) being out somewhere and under the influence of alcohol. the tempo and vibe of the song is very different than the rest of the record, which causes it to stand out. the music sort of feels very sexual and erotic. i think the song is basically chino daring some one to try and pick him up. almost like an ego thing "you think your good enough for me? come and get some", like in those old clint eastwood moves where he challenges someone to pull a gun because he knows he's quicker and a better shot. so i just sort of get the impresson of chino being out, drunk or buzzed and waiting for someone to make a move. "spread your wings and sail out to me" kind of makes me think of describing a girl spreading her legs and inviting him in. of course maybe i'm just a sick little pervert.

It's about giving up your convictions and just whoring youself out for anything. You know, maybe you're drunk and will sleep with someone GAWD Awful just because you drunk and bored.

I completely agree with magistar's interpretation. I think this song is about someone who is bitter and disillusioned with life seducing a young, inexperienced, and naive person to ease their own pain. It's basically about sex and misplaced affection.

"Won't somebody save me" -- implies that he is miserable, but unable to help himself. He needs someone to dull the pain.

"You've crossed the walls, excelled" -- person has surpassed their expectations, and crossed the 'wall' into his heart. This does not necessarily mean he loves that person; he simply takes notices of the fact that the naive person is truly devoted to him: "You always have / You always will"

"Further along through their hell / All for my heart, I watch you kill" I interpret these 2 lines as the naive person hurting other people who are close to them just to satisfy their seducer. That could be breaking up with your current partner, or distancing yourself from friends/family, etc

"Now spread your wings and sail out to me" whenever someone says "spread your wings", they're usually referring to a young adult who's coming of age and blossoming into adulthood. It also has a double meaning: angels have wings, and his young victim is also going to be his saviour

Finally, here's my analysis of the chorus: "And if you're feeling lucky Come and take me home And if you feel loved" -- refers to the gamble that the seduced victim is making. When you bring someone home, how do you know they're not dangerous? Or a psychopath? when you fall in love with somenoe, what if you don't know who they really are? Earlier I said that this song was partly about misplaced affection, and here's where I got that interpretation. The young victim believes that they're in love, but they have no idea if they're making a mistake or not.

The singer is telling them to take a chance with him and save him if they "feel lucky" -- even though it may not be a good decision...

hmm, im not sure about this one. for some reason i get a picture of chino spreading his arms wide open, inviting something evil in. whatever it is, its always been that way and he excepts that it always will. its almost like he doesnt care if they have done something evil, he still loves them or atleast wants them to "come and take (him) home" if they are willing to commit to him then he is willing to take them in. but im really not sure, thats just the picture i get...

i think jenee is onto it. ive heard that this song is about chino killing hookers. theres actually arguments that chino has gotten more and more out of control as time goes on, this is visible in terms of heroin and eating cuz now hes a fat bloated fuck. but the lyrics of lifter, around the fur, elite, and lucky you give listeners an album by album, step by step look at chinos growing affinity to abusing prostitutes.

hmmm, i dunno, i think its about chino needing someone who he cant talk to right now and he wants to know do they think they can help him...
