Tainted Love Lyrics

Sometimes I feel I've got to
Run away, I've got to
Get away
From the pain
You drive into the heart of me
The love we share
Seems to go nowhere
And I've lost my light
And I toss and turn
I can't sleep at night

Once I ran to you
Now I run from you
This tainted love you give me
I gave you all a boy could give you
Take my tears
And that's not really
Ooh, tainted love
Tainted love

Now I know I've got to
Run away, I've got to
Get away
You don't really want
Anymore from me
To make things right
You need someone
To hold you tight
And you think love is a game
But I'm sorry I don't play that way

Once I ran to you
Now I run from you
This tainted love you give me
I gave you all a boy could give you
Take my tears
And that's not really
Ooh, tainted love
Tainted love
Tainted love
Tainted love

Tainted love
Tainted love
Don't touch me, please
I cannot stand the way you tease
I love you though you hurt me so
Now i've gotta pack my things and go
Tainted love
Tainted love
Tainted love
Tainted love

Coming from soneone who's seen Me First live twice, they do cover this song.

I've never heard of MFATGG playing this song live, but maybe they do...they aren't exactly consistent with their set lists. REGARDLESS of all that, they have definitely not ever recorded a cover of "Tainted Love" as of yet. The mislabeled MP3 that most people download as the MFATGG cover is actually done by a band called "Shades Apart" and I think it's on the "Cinema: Beer Nuts:" compilation from Hopeless Records. The original song was by Gloria Jones, in the 1960s. Later, in the 1980's. Soft Cell's cover popularized the song, and is probably the most well-known version.
