I think I'm breaking out
I'm gonna leave you now
There's nothing for me here it's all the same
And even though I know
That everything might go
Go downhill from here I'm not afraid

Way away away from here I'll be
Way away away so you can see
How it feels to be alone and not believe (feels to be alone and not believe)
Anything

You can't stop me now
You can't hold me down
You can't keep me here I'm on my way
I've made it this far now
And I'm not burning out
No matter what you say, I'm not afraid

Way away away from here I'll be
Way away away so you can see
How it feels to be alone and not believe (feels to be alone and not believe)
Anything

Letting out the noise inside of me (letting out the noise inside of me)
Every window pane is shattering (every window pane is shattering)
Cutting up my words before I speak (cutting up my words before I speak)
This is how it feels to not believe

Letting out the noise inside of me (letting out the noise inside of me)
Every window pane is shattering (every window pane is shattering)
Cutting up my words before I speak (cutting up my words before I speak)
This is how it feels to not believe

Way away away from here I'll be
Way away away so you can see
How it feels to be alone and not believe (feels to be alone and not believe)
Feels to be alone and not believe
Anything

Personally I think the song is about relationship stuff. Sounds like his girlfriend lied to him about something, and now he can't belive anything she says anymore. And since he left her, now shes going to know how it is to be alone. He's also saying since she did what she did, he just doesn't want anything to do or be near her. That's my two cents!

I think its more than doing just what you want to do and not letting people get in the way. It sounds like hes saying hes been doing something the same way for a long time and he wants to just leave it all behind and follow his dreams, but you cant really tell, maybe "I made it this far now And I'm not burning out " is saying instead of spending his life blazin he wants to do something else? i dunno

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.
