All Within My Hands Lyrics

All within my hands
Squeeze it in, crush it down
All with my hands
Hold it dear, hold it suffocate

All within my hands
Love to death, smack you 'round and round and
All within my hands
Beware

Love is control
I'll die if I let go

Hate me now
Kill all within my hands
Hate me now
Crush all within my hands
Squeeze all within my hands
Choke all within my hands
Hate me now
Trap all within my hands
Hurry up and hate me now
Kill all within my hands

All within my hands
Take your fear, pump me up
All within my hands
Let you run, then I pull your leash

All within my hands
Under thumb, under to myself
All within my hands
Beware

Love is control
I'll die if I let go

Hate me now
Kill all within my hands
Hate me now
Crush all within my hands
Squeeze all within my hands
Choke all within my hands
Hate me now
Trap all within my hands
Hurry up and hate me now
Kill all within my hands again

I'll die if I let go
Control is love, love is control
I'll fall if I let go
Control is love, love is control

I will only let you breathe
My air that you receive
Then we'll see if I let you love me

"I couldn't give a shit less what a bunch of pompous millionaires think or feel. Fuck them and their money-grubbing attitudes."

Dude. Its not about listening to what THEY feel, its about listening what they say and relating it to yourself, if you cannot appreciate good, deep, music then you are one classless individual.

WHAT THA FUCK?!! How can you even say that?! St. Anger is quite possibly Metallica's most truthful and emotional album! Is it different, sure, but think about all Metallica's been through over the last few years... James in rehab, Jason leavin the band, the whole napster incident... how could all of these things not change them, evolve them. And in doing this, sure, they're music was different because there was a lot of anger, depression, and raw emotion that they released throughout this entire album. I think it's a masterpiece... I don't think a band has to stay the same throughout their entire career and always write the same type of songs and use the same type of music throughout their entire career to be considered great. I think it is evolving that makes a band great, but I guess I'm not a concieded prick like some other people...

@me_tall_i_ca well said.

This song's kinda like low man's lyric, except that song was "I'm a douchebag, but I'm sorry!" this song is just "I'm a douchebag". And by the way, how can you expect a band to go on for more than twenty years and not do something different? (by the way, this ranting is directed at scorn). James has said that this album was just a statement, really, and it is. But the album certainly isn't bad, I liked the way james used the weird shit in his psyche to make the songs, if you can't compare with that than apparently you only like listening about war and judicial systems, whatever, but hearing him rant about the same subjects for twenty years would get old. All the stuff they make kicks ass (okay, maybe not mama said, but that's it) from kill'em all to St. Anger, they're all different styles they use to express themselves, the steel drums sound and jame's broken voice go with the anger theme, I'm sure they didn't just make the whole album and went "hey, did you notice the drums sound just a little different?" they obviously did it for a reason. And if you're going to pick a time when they supposedly "died" pick load, because there was nothing wrong with the black album, just a ballad song or two, the rest of the album was still awesome like the old stuff.

I don't know why anyone is complaining about this album. Truly, I think Metallica sold out with "Death Magnetic" because they gave into what the fans wanted, and not what they wanted fully. This album is by far the heaviest (as a whole), the rawest, and the truest they have ever produced. Sure it lacks guitar solos, but solos don't make a song. To enjoy this album, turn it wayyy up on good speakers. It really is the angriest CD they've produced, and I love it (even more than post black album metallica). The bad production makes it even more interesting to listen to, SCREW YOUR POLISHED SOUND. This sounds like a kickass garage band with simple $300 equipment destroying a setlist.

As for the song, it may be the best on the album. Many people have said the meaning, so I won't go into it.

This is Metallica at their most emotional, raw, and true. James is conveying here that the love he has for someone or something (alcohol perhaps?) will kill him if he lets go.

This song kind of highlights the contradiction of control: control over oneself is pure love, but control over others is void of love. I think James is kind of speaking to the irony of the inescapable anger and hate that manifests in those who seek control over others. That is, people who seek control over others are fooled into the perception that controlling others is necessary for love, when the exact opposite is true. The desire to control others comes from a victim mindset, and only self-empowerment can bring love and peace.

i think a nice solo would have been nice just before the line "I'll die if i let go"

otherwise pretty awesome.

I love his alice in chains mimicry when he sings all within my hands

the screaming of kill at the end just soundsa stupid..

I think this song revoles around how James felt when jason left. Iniatially, jason wanted to go and record a CD with a different Band. THe band didnt want to let that happen so jason gave an ultimatum, let me go or ill leave.....he left. So the songs bout how they tried to hold him back but they were really killing him. They were suffocating him. They loved him so much (no not in that way) that they were really harming him. What are your views on this?

6 years later, but umm yea i think thats what this song is about!

I think this song is about loving and caring about someone so much, that in ways, your actually smothering or are hurting them (acillatem is right, Im pretty sure its reffering to the departure of Jason)
