Lying from You

i think that this is a great song with a great meaning. i think that this song is about someone who would do anything for this one person. they eventually went too far trying to please them, and they mention, also, that they believe that person is great- perfect, even- and the only bad thing about him/her/it, is them.... if that made sense to anyone..

This is another good Linkin Park song, then again, it's not unusual for Linkin Park to come out with really good songs. I didn't actually hear this song untill today, and the more I listen to it and think about the lyrics, the more I see how it applies to me and the situation I've found myself in with this girl at school. Pushmeaway and gregmarck are totally right as to what this song means.

I think this song means that someone would do anything for a specific person, even changing their personality, looks, the way they talk. They realized that in the process of trying to impress that specific person they had lost themselves. That someone was lying to that person about who they really are.

Umm...i've listened to this song a lot of times, and i think Chester is saying "i want to be PUSHED aside" instead of "i want to be CLOSED inside" and also "trying to BEND the truth" instead of "trying to FILL the truth".

this is a great song best on meteora i think i think is about someone who tries to fit in but the only way to do that is to change his personallity and hide who he trully is and he's saying all he really wants is to be alone and for someone to understand who he really is and like him for that

I love this song, to me it means that, like many guys out there, he changed himself to be with the woman he loves, only to find out that he lost himself in the change. Finally he realized that the only way he's going to reclaim his life is if she takes her hooks out of him and allows him to be what he was before. But because of his feelings he can't bring himself to leave her, seeign that every problem he has with her is because of what he's allowed himself to become. Granted, the lyrics from their website and the CD are slightly different than the ones posted here for some reason. The line where it says "I wanna be closed inside" is actually "I wanna be pushed aside" Which to me means he's seeking escape, not closure. Just my 2 cents.

Personally, I feel that every word in this song simply screams 'poser'. And I think that's the meaning of this song.

The singer is singing about a person who's pretending to be part of the in crowd simply to gain the attention of those around him. He built up a false persona and, as the singer says, steals second after second of peoples attention only to lose it one day when he decides that he's not being himself and that his life's going nowhere. So, he does or says something that causes all of the people around him to reject him so that he can be alone. To me, this is the meaning of the song and it's a damn fine meaning too -- easily my favorite Linkin Park song. :)

i think that somebody has pretend to someone who he is just to be like that another person want and try to be something he isn't and then he realized that he want be that person who he was before and then he is like "let me go, i wanna be pushed aside" and something like that...
