This song is basically saying stand up in what you believe in and don't let someone run your life, also the part where it says"Waiting for this world to stop hating" is saying be yourself don't change yourself into something your not.It's obvious in the beginning of the video the guy tries to tell them what to do.
No, it doesn't. The entire song shows how lost he is. He doesn't know what to feel; what to say; what to do, etc, so he does nothing. Just keeps living his life with dreams he'll never make come true due to fear. He keeps the status quo while telling himself he's a rebel. He lies to himself to feel OK. The song isn't about him wanting to be himself. It's about him not knowing himself and settling. He blames the entire world for hating him when he's the one who hates himself. The rest of the world welcomes him, but his fear keeps him from enjoying it fully. YOu and I heard different songs...
