Tiny Tears Lyrics

Baby baby, don't you cry
Wipe away that tear from your eye
Sailing on a sea of blue
In my dreams theres a place for me and you

Where all your hopes and all your cares
They all get out through tiny tears.

Baby babe don't say a word
In this life you get all that you deserve
I'm sorry that I made you cry
I can't believe that I'm just an ordinary guy

When all and all is said and done
It can be only won by one

And now I'm 29 years old
And I'm a million miles away
I'm a million miles away

Hey babe, don't treat it like it's a fucking luxury.

Baby babe, don't say a word
In this life we get all that we deserve
I'm sorry that I made you cry
I can't believe I'm just an ordinary guy

I can't believe I made you cry
I can't believe that made you cry
I can't believe this makes you cry

Kyrie Eleison [x4]

It looks like "Kyrie Eleison" may actually be "Kýrie eléison", which is apparently a Greek phrase meaning "Lord, have mercy":

Today I learned...

I used to skip over this song all the time while listening to Terria. However, that is very much so no longer the case. This is my second favorite Townsend song, right behind Funeral.

I believe "Tiny Tears" has multiple meanings here. In the song, he says "Where all your hopes and all your cares, they all get out through tiny tears," being tears like a physical injury or opening, not crying. However, this song has a pretty "sad" sound to it, so crying may also be related..

I'm not sure what he's trying to say he's a million miles away from. Maybe he was away from Tracy or someone else important while making Terria. Whoever it is, Devin apparently made that person cry and is very sad about it.

Devin sees and thinks he "needs" someone (or something) in the chanting section of the song (Which is beautiful. The main reason I love this song). However, he resists (or simply cannot succumb to) the temptation to get that someone or something. It sounds like an addiction breaking when he says that he's learned his lesson.

To end the song on a lighter note, Devin states that he's bored now. Maybe life was more exciting wanting/needing/having that thing, and is now boring without that thing.

I don't actually hear "Okay, I'm bored now" in the song. That last part says "Kyrie Eleison". What is he saying in french, though? Or at least it sounds like french...

Well here is the answer! 3 years after your question! Kyrie Eleison is not french, it's greek and it means "Lord, have mercy on us", frequently used in Greek-Orthodox churches. I am amazed I have never noticed that part, although I am from Greece and I have heard Terria so many times!

Anyway great song! And the correct lyrics that Aniland posted can be found here: http://www.songmeanings.net/songs/view/3530822107858816299/

Right!.. And very common also for the Roman-Catholic Churches rite i guess.. ;)

Devin sometimes writes lyrics down but never puts them in the song (Mountain for example). I think they are lyrics he wanted to put in the song but didn't fit maybe.

"In this life you get all that you deserve"

Foolish, shallow line. Hope he's not serious.
