Canada Lyrics

The road,
It's home,
At least for now, the rivers low

Wake me, please wake me,
It's cold and warm on the prairie freeway

Spoken:
Once upon a time... in a little tiny tree in a nest lived a bird
And the bird didn't have a mom or a dad

All the time I needed your approval to be me
All that time spent waiting for the jury duty...
More than ever I needed Mora
More than Mora means...
Be whatever you must be to get by

It's oil, It's wheat, It's soil, It's meat
It's beef!

The road, it's home, the mountain high, river low...
Wake me, please wake me,
When it's my turn to drive
Only the lonely (and maybe John Denver) know the Canadian freeway.

My 2nd favorite off Terria. I'm agreeing with the first poster on the meaning.

The song also appears to be about being fulling enveloped within a relationship and one person. The freeway home is an analogy for the long trip he has to take to let go of his feelings for 'mora' the woman in question. He wants to be awoken from his obsession with this person and go on living life freely (e.g. 'free'way).

The lonely bit hides the meaning that it's his sole trip to freedom for himself and no one else can travel with him (aside from John Denver, who sang a song by the same name hehe).

If you haven't noticed, he also mentions "Mora" in the SYL song Critic. Hell if I know who/what it is.

A friend showed me this song the first time I ever took Ecstacy. Let me just say, that it was one of the most beautiful moments of my entire life. I love all of the lyrics to this song. His voice is awesome, and a few lines just get to me: "More than ever I needed Mora, more than Mora means" "Be whatever you must be to get by" "Wake me, please wake me, when it's my turn to drive"

Haha, Lateral.Us: I totally "do" Canada. :-) The line "It's cold and warm on the prairie freeway" reminds me of travelling in Canadian Prairie Winters. Even in the southernmost climes your car (tour van, whatever) doubles as a life-support system. It's possible nobody in North America but a Canadian truly appreciates being warm.
